The specific power source required depends on your preferred usage and the number of lights being used. To activate the timer, hold the button down for 3 seconds. The button will illuminate green to signal the 6 hour timer is engaged and red for the 8 hour timer; you can still cycle through the different functions whilst in timer mode.
