About this deal

Created to lead the way, the centre of attention amongst DAIWA. To create and change the future of the fishing scene. AIRDRIVE DESIGN was created to be the pinnacle, the one which all will follow.

It’s built with an all-carbon disc drag system and utilizes Daiwa’s proprietary drag oil which provides super smooth functionality.

About the product

The Daiwa's ATD drag offers a minimal starting resistance, suiting finesse and thin lines, bringing a heightened responsiveness during critical moments of the fight. The newly designed Tough Digigear delivers optimal power transmission and higher durability. The twin lipped longcast spool reduces casting resistance - ideally suited for light lures and rigs. Whether you are targeting smaller inshore fish or larger big game fish, these reels get the job done! Ask a second person to place a pencil through the hole of the spool and use a cloth to add friction to the spool to stop it spinning out of control whilst you wind it onto the reel. The first aspect to laud about the Daiwa D4000 is its seamless twist control line roller. A step up from the norm, this feature significantly diminishes the chances of line twists and tangles. With this innovation, your fishing line will always be in top form, ready for the cast and the ensuing battle.

Saltwater-specific design – Both brands understand the specific needs of sea anglers and cater to them by designing reels specifically for saltwater use. They incorporate sealed drag systems, corrosion-resistant bearings, and waterproof seals to protect the internal components from saltwater intrusion. This design approach extends the lifespan of the reels and maintains their smooth performance even in saltwater environments. Regardless of your preference though, the rubber grip works perfectly well whether your hands are wet or even covered in fish slime. The rubber maintains a good grip to it. Drag is highly dependent upon how strong the lines are. Generally one needs to set the drag at 25% to 1/3 of one’s line breaking strength. The design of the spool actually goes out from the bottom and tapers up. This is intentional by design to create a top-heavy spool. The size of a reel is usually identified by a number, the higher the number, the bigger the reel. This is useful to know, as although a 10,000-sized carp fishing reel may be good for fishing on smaller lakes, it likely won't have the spool size and therefore casting capability of a 'big pit' carp fishing reel, for example.
