About this deal

Pureed fruit (peach, raspberry, banana) or fresh juice ( watermelon, grapefruit) both work on their own, sweetened or gussied up with added bits. Minimalist Baker does blueberries, satsuma segments and chopped-up peach in orange juice. Mark Grossman simply dips frozen banana halves in melted, buttery chocolate then adds sprinkles to freeze. If you prefer tubs to share under the stars on a summer’s evening, our huge range of ice creams are waiting to be discovered and added to your basket today. We’ve got tubs and cones available in a host of delectable flavours. Disclaimer: I don’t like Mars bars, so this outer top-ten positioning is heavily influenced by that. But let’s talk about the ice lolly as a separate entity. It’s a bit boring. It’s a Choc Ice with a less than satisfactory amount of caramel smeared across the top. It’s also much smaller than a Choc Ice and the chocolate is equally as grim, although a smidge more tasty. Mars ice lollies, much like the bars, are rarely anyone’s first choice. There’s no oomph, there’s no get-up-and-go about them. They’re just there. They exist. At any given time, they are chilling both literally and metaphorically in the freezer. We’ve got other options. Yaknow?

A Pip & Mix selection of our favourite Organic Fruity Ice Lollies, including: Apple, Tropical & Berry. Crammed with only 100% organic fruit & a drop of guar gum, each of our piptastic Fruity Ice Lollies adds both a little bit of nutrition & colour to your little one's day - the no nasties way!Let’s be honest for a moment. It’s not a Twix, is it? It’s a Twix ice lolly, which takes some elements of a Twix, but then turns it into an ice cream version of itself. Like a normal Twix’s cousin that’s from somewhere foreign. They’re under the same name, but in no other way are they similar. As a separate entity, they’re not bad. The biscuit is usually quite soggy, but still a nice change from the standard chocolate / ice cream combination we’re used to. The caramel never looks how it does in the advertised image above, but it’s still delicious. The main issue is that if your Twix ice lolly hasn’t already been broken or dented before you get to consume it, one bite ruins everything as it splits down the middle and shatters into a thousand messy pieces. Still tasty though. With summer in full swing and the weather set to turn nice and hot again, it's time to break out the ice lollies and this week we've been testing supermarket own brands.

Here we go. Now we’re into the good stuff. This is the Ballon d’Or territory of ice lollies. Cornettos are like a fancy 99 ice cream. They’re structurally sound, they offer a good balance of flavour and they reward you with a little chocolatey gift when you reach the end of your journey. Obviously the strawberry Cornetto is the best, followed by the mint and then vanilla flavour. You can even get a few fancy varieties on holidays, but the strawberry Cornetto is never going to let you down. It’s a reliable win every time. The chocolate at the bottom is inspiring. Go out there and be the chocolate at the bottom of a Cornetto that you want to see in the world. Namaste.Mix 'n' match: For a two coloured lolly that the kids will love you can always try half filling the moulds with one thing, letting them freeze and then adding something else before returning to the freezer - anything goes really so just have fun experimenting! Discover a feast of flavours, including sweet bubble gum, fizzy cola, sharp lemon and lime, ripe banana and sugary nougat, plus tangy sherbet and fruity milkshake. Whether you call it a lolly ice, or an ice lolly, you're bound to have your favourite and you certainly can't beat those childhood classics like a Twister, Fab or a Calippo. But most supermarkets have their own versions too and this week we thought we'd see how they compare to the big name brands we've been demolishing for years.

I'm usually more of an ice cream girl, but on the rare occasion I have an ice lolly, I usually opt for my favourite - a Fab. However, I love fresh orange juice, so when I spotted the Specially Selected Valencia Orange Ice Lollies at my local Aldi, I couldn't resist buying them, as I imagined they'd taste like frozen orange juice. We recently tried supermarket own brand ice creams and were surprisingly impressed with the results, which you can read here - but will the ice lollies fare just as well? Take a look at our verdict below:So whether you’re entertaining at a BBQ, garden party or picnic, you’ll icy goodies ready to dish out as the perfect dessert after your savoury delights. PIP KIDS PANEL APPROVED: During development of all Pip products, we work closely with our Pip Kids Panel to ensure all our healthy treats are specifically designed to be both engaging & tantalisingly tasty. To ensure they delight little one's taste buds & imaginations and make it exciting and appetising for them to develop healthy eating habits! We are proud to say our Pip & Mix Fruity Lollies have been given a big thumbs up! For such a reasonable price, I'm impressed by the quantity but the quality really isn't there. I won't be buying them again.
