About this deal

Milka is now a familiar sight across Europe, and not just in the German-speaking countries where the chocolate originated. And I'm sure many people have taken a second look to see if they could spot a purple cow on a hike in the Alps. Warm about 150ml milk in a pan over a medium heat and stir in the chocolate. Continue to stir until the chocolate has melted into the milk, then whisk in the remaining milk and the cream.

Whether it's a cold winter day or a lovely summer evening, there's nothing quite like the warming feeling from a hot chocolate. Both children and grown-ups love it. But making a cup of cocoa can be a lot of work. Not with TASSIMO hot chocolate pods! No need for milk, sachets or hassle with pots and pans. Simply use a hot Chocolate pod / T DISC and your hot chocolate drink will be ready within seconds. Continue to heat until the mixture is hot, but not boiling, then add the cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Taste, adjust if necessary, and serve. For a frothy finish, whisk vigorously just before pouring. You probably already know the delicious taste of Milka milk chocolate - but did you know that you can now also get Milka as a delicious hot cocoa drink, where you can enjoy the taste of the famous milk chocolate from the Alps in liquid form? The Maya are also, presumably, the inspiration for the two red chillies in the Waitrose recipe – they liked their chocolate spicy, although also, apparently, cold. (The Aztecs were also fond of the stuff: Montezuma's court is reputed to have got through 2,000 cups a day, 50 of which were consumed by the emperor himself.) The heat the peppers provide is surprisingly subtle, but, while pleasant, it doesn't fit my idea of a soothing drink.Did you know that all official TASSIMO chocolate pods also called T DISCs are compatible with every TASSIMO machine? This means that your hot chocolate capsules will fit into all TASSIMO machines. Take a look at all coffee machines to discover which one you prefer. How to make Hot Chocolate with hot chocolate pods from TASSIMO? Proper hot chocolate is a piece of culinary first aid that ought to be in everyone's repertoire – I like to keep it simple, but this recipe is easy to customise with anything from cardamom to Nigel Slater's intriguing suggestion of lavender. Experiment – all you have to lose is your waistline.

For some, the TASSIMO machine is known as the 'TASSIMO hot chocolate machine', as they use it mainly for Hot Cocoa. To use TASSIMO for a chocolate drink, you only need a T DISC and the machine. Insert the hot chocolate pod into the machine, press the button and wait. Your hot chocolate will be ready before you know it. Who doesn't enjoy a hot chocolate? Enjoy a Hot Chocolate with TASSIMO hot chocolate pods

Now Milka has been kind enough to make their popular chocolate available for Tassimo, so you can enjoy this timeless classic as a rich, velvety and creamy cup of cocoa. I'm not, however, quite as sophisticated as Mr Nigel Slater, who sighs that "most chocolate has too much sugar in to be satisfactory for making a hot drink. It ends up more like something you might pour over your profiteroles". As I abhor that staple of the buffet table, this intrigues me – could I be about to break through to another level of hot chocolatey perfection? "If you want to take the drink seriously," he continues (oh I do Nigel, I promise) "use the most bitter chocolate you can find ... then sweeten it yourself". Not looking for hot chocolate pods? Have a look at all drink pods or try coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato pods. Interested in hot drink pods that do not contain coffee? In that case the other hot drink capsules may be what you need! Hot Chocolate mugs & accessories
