About this deal

Our demands for high quality are shown in our uncompromising choice of raw materials, product safety, environmental impact and constant quality control. Based on its own studies and scientific findings, NUK regularly optimises its product range. That is why we gave up using polycarbonate (PC) with its BPA content in our bottle production considerably long before the legal ban. Here is where you can find what you need to know about this topic. For many years, NUK First Choice has been the first choice for bottle feeding modelled on breastfeeding. With NUK First Choice + we have managed to get even closer to nature – for healthy jaw development and a drinking sensation as if at a mother’s breast. Knowing exactly when baby's feed is at the right temperature can be a challenge. NUK First Choice+ baby bottles now have a built-in Temperature Control indicator located on the bottle's graduation marks that changes colour from blue to white when the bottle's contents are too hot (above the optimal feeding temperature of 37 degrees), so you can be sure your baby's milk is always at a comfortable drinking temperature. This bottle is the ideal choice for combined feeding* as the NUK orthodontic teat simulates the shape of a mother's nipple during breastfeeding which gives baby a natural and familiar drinking sensation. The innovative teat also minimises colics** thanks to the NUK Anti-Colic Air System that ensures a natural flow to help your baby drink without swallowing air.

If the food is too hot, the normally blue indicator will turn white. Ideally, the food for feeding should have body temperature (37°C) and corresponds to the mean blue tone on the display. The new Temperature Control function is integrated in NUK First Choice + bottles made of polyamide and polypropylene. Licensed editions are excluded. Likewise, there are one or two anti-reflux bottles. This is quite a worrying claim. Reflux is a medical problem, and no bottle would ever be able to make it better. Also, the word "natural" used to describe a bottle might suggest that some bottles are less good, or unnatural, which is simply untrue. The NUK Anti-Colic Air System ensures a natural flow to help your baby drink without swallowing air. Carefully read warnings and instructions inside. What Other Baby Bottles Should You Consider?

Tip: If you would rather take a look at our glass baby bottles and find out more about them, go to our Baby Glass Bottles category. However, plastic is neither as heat-resistant as glass and nor as scratchproof. When the bottles are scratched inside, you should replace them, as germs can settle in the scratches more easily. With its new soft zone, the silicone baglet is a better fit against the roof of your baby´s mouth – giving a natural feeling while drinking. Suitable for combination feeding* - the extra wide lip support simulates breast feeding as closely as possible

If you’re worried about glass bottles slipping out of your grasp easily, you can buy special sleeves to give you extra grip. Any parent who bottle-fed their baby will tell you that not every bottle is the same. Even the size of the bottle can help – or hinder – your baby accepting it for feeding. We were disappointed the bottle had no protective sleeve available. Since drops and bumps are inevitable, we think many parents would appreciate an extra layer of protection for a glass baby bottle. Glass is also heavier than silicone and plastic. We suggest monitoring your child while they drink from this bottle because its weight could pose a challenge, and older children could move around or become squirmy, increasing the chance of a drop. Glass bottles are also really easy to clean and don’t store dirt or bacteria in the way plastic can. Tip: so that you and your child can be happy with the plastic bottles for a long time, we would recommend that you do not warm up or disinfect the bottles in the microwave. NUK Baby Bottles are well suited to being boiled and sterilised with steam.

When you think of a glass bottle, you probably think of a milk bottle, which shatters dangerously if you drop it. Considering how many times you and your baby will drop their bottle – we know how clumsy you get on 3 hours sleep after all – you want to make sure that a glass baby bottle can withstand babyhood. Plus, the initial thought of giving your baby something made of glass can make you shiver. NUK offers baby bottles made out of the synthetic materials polypropylene (PP) andpolyamides (PA). They are particularly light and nearly unbreakable and with that, optimally-suited for use both at home and out and about. Glass is the classic material for drinking containers – and also for baby foods. Today, with its higher scratch resistance, glass is a particularly resiliant and environmentally-friendly material. NUK only offers products made from borosilicate glass, which, with its cross-linked surface structure is particularly heat-resistant. Thanks to the high level of transparency of the glass you can easily see if there is any milk or other residue still there when cleaning the bottles. The high heat-resistance means you can clean the glass baby bottles as often as you like and even boil them. And should you give older children tea or juice in them, then the glass of the bottle does not discolour. Independent market research among 205 mothers, Germany 2018. (99% of the mothers confirmed that the NUK First Choice+ Control bottle does not cause colic).

Thanks to the flexible silicone material and the wide opening it is very easy to use: simply place the bottle into the sleeve and close it with the button: worrying about glass shards in the family kitchen is now a thing of the past! Even if a bottle does break the shards stay in the sleeve and can be disposed of safely. The transparent narrow window lets you always see how full the bottle is. Plus, if you’ve noticed how plastic can begin to smell over time, you’ll be glad to know this won’t happen with glass. Plastic traps dirt and bacteria, whereas glass won’t. Are glass baby bottles eco-friendly? NUK Silicone Teats are made from a high-quality synthetic material. The clear silicone material is easily cleaned and highly heat-resistant. Even direct sunlight or edible fats do not age the material. Silicone teats have a neutral taste and smell. However, silicone is slightly less bite and tear-resistant than latex. For this reason, NUK also uses firmer, more bite-resistant silicone material for the size 3 teat. Should a silicone teat have even small bite marks or other signs of damage, it should be replaced immediately. For reasons of hygiene and safety, it is generally recommended to replace all teats – whether latex or silicone – after 1-2 months. We heard you ask this question, and yes, they are – and they’re becoming more popular by the day. There are lots of reasons for parents choosing glass over plastic for their baby’s bottles, and we wanted to find out more. Are they safe? Are they better than plastic? Which ones should I buy? Read on to find out everything you need to know about glass baby bottles. Are glass baby bottles safe? You will have heard of BPA (bisphenol A), which we’ve been avoiding in plastic goods for a long time. This chemical can leach into drinks and food, so it’s always vital to make sure any bottles, plastic lunchboxes, or bags are BPA-free.

The transparent sleeve is BPA-free and gives every bottle a new look. Clean the sleeve by rinsing thoroughly by hand.

Polypropylene is a translucent, synthetic material, which is used by NUK for the manufacture of BPA-free baby bottles. Its smooth surface ensures that it is pleasant to touch. It is notably shatterproof and is even suitable for freezing. Whether a natural product or a special synthetic material, all NUK Teats are soft and adapt to the inside of a child’s mouth. Of course you can also switch between teat materials. In case you are unsure of which material is better for your child, you can let your child decide too: many accept only the one but not the other. Here are the best bottles our editors have highlighted through research. And it's all supported by our parents in the BabyCentre community. The NUK Simply Natural Glass is an excellent glass bottle with longevity if you carefully handle it throughout the feeding years. We appreciate its glass makeup, not just from a health standpoint but also environmentally, considering the production and recyclability of glass. Compared to the baby bottle competition, the NUK combines the right features to score high, surpassing other glass options. Those who are unsure about silicone may be motivated to select this bottle.
