Application & Maintenance AdviceProviding a satin-matt, smooth finish, Osmo Bangkirai Wood Oilis highly water-resistant, dirt-repellent and offers easy maintenance. If greyed in the seasoning period clean with Osmo Wood reviver Gel, Wet timber Apply Gel Liberally, scrub in with Osmo cleaning brush, Leave for up to 30 minutes, Scrub the surface a second time, wash off with copious amounts of water, do not pressure wash, leave to dry 48 hours. Please note extreme seasoning may require a second application.

Wood is a natural material, the cell structure, similar to our skin, can take on and release moisture, it breathes. Weathered, bare wood surfaces can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-gel. Always start out by testing an inconspicuous area to ensure you’re happy with the result and that the wood and product are a good match. Bangkirai: 12 weeks exposure. 006 Bangkirai is optically suitable and a very popular choice of colour tone.Wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner. Osmo Bangkirai Oil is based on vegetable oils. These natural ingredients penetrate into the timber, keeping it flexible and healthy and preventing drying or brittleness. Environmental Concerns Osmo paints dry through oxidation - therefore require good ventilation to dry. Approximately 10-12 hours should be expected per coat.

Resinous wood, such as Larch or Douglas Fir, needs to weather off for at least 6 weeks to improve absorbency. Pressure impregnated wood and tropical species like Massaranduba, Bangkirai, Garapa, Iroko need to weather off for at least 3 months. Cedar requires a 3 month weathering period to improve absorbency. Osmo Bangkirai Oil provides a very simple surface to clean. Simply use a moist cloth. Particularly difficult stains can be removed with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner. Pressure impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months. Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin. Access must be suitable for lorries which will be 3.5 tonne 7.5 tonne or 14 tonne lorries (7.5 tonne being similar to average refuse collection lorry)Containing a high quantity of pigments and oils, Osmo wood finishes leave a stunning surface finish after just one or two coats, without the need for a primer or base coat. If possible, and if the wood is absorbent please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.

Minimum Application Temperature - 10 degree Celsius, conditions must not be damp in the evenings and mornings, ideally apply in Spring to Autumn Ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use. Thoroughly clean or lightly sand old microporous stains or completely remove old varnishes before application.
