About this deal

Now that we’ve covered Rigilene boning, let’s talk about Tripleflex plastic boning. Tripleflex is clear, it’s thin, and it’s been folded over itself multiple times. There are different ways to approach this technique, and here's the one I mashed-up after much reading and thought. Here's what you'll need for this particular tutorial: Rigilene boning is a strong plastic kind that's known for being supportive and lasting a long time. It looks ribbed, which makes it stiff and hard to bend. Boning is long, flat and stiff and is inserted inside the garment to give it stiffness and structure. Advantages:Spiral steel boning offers flex on two axis, which makes it perfect for boning curved areas and areas where comfort and flexibility are most important

Flexible: You can easy to cut any size of polyester boning you want, it will well provide shape and support for your garments, costumes and crafts The primary purpose of using boning in dresses is to maintain the desired silhouette of the garment. It helps to create a clean, smooth line and prevents the fabric from wrinkling or collapsing. Boning can be especially useful in dresses with fitted bodices, strapless or off-the-shoulder styles, corsets, and ball gowns.Advantages: Plastic material is extremely durable and highly resistant to washing detergents and other fluids. High flexibility.

In this example, I’m using the type of boning that comes in the fabric casing. I am applying the boning to the lining of the bodice, so the casing seams are visible only inside the garment, not from the outside. Low Density: Easy to sew polyester boning, it can be stitched directly to fabric without a casing, specially created for giving shape and support to garments, lingerie, swimwear, hats and corsets The boning is used to stiffen the fabric and stretch it out and even to make it stand upright. It is used to keep the body straight and erect when used inside a corset. According to the manufacturers catalogue this type of boning is " 100% plastic, is machine washable and possesses good spring characteristics, therefore returning to its original shape without any tendency to kink". Note: I have seen this type of boning being confused with plastic 'multi bones' from the same manufacturer, which are made from spun polyester and are not the same as synthetic boning as they are described in the catalogue as being "extremely soft". Boning refers to the strips of rigid material, typically made of steel or plastic, that are sewn into the seams of a dress to provide structure and support. It plays a crucial role in shaping the garment and ensuring a flattering fit on the wearer.Sometimes the casings are sewn to the outside as a design feature, as seen in corsets or foundation garments. Synthetic whalebone, on the other hand, is semi rigid and you can find it in many sizes. As far as I can tell, only one manufacturer makes synthetic whalebone and it’s actual purpose is to be a lightweight alternative for steel. So, next time you see a corset and wonder why it looks so awesome, remember, it's all thanks to these different types of boning doing their thing!
