Many people reason that if these three elderly respected leaders from China say Yun is a liar, then surely it must be true. After all, Pastor Lamb spent more than twenty years in prison for the Gospel and is looked up to by Christians all around the world as a heroic kind of statesmen of the persecuted church. Surely someone like him would never issue a denunciation against another brother unless it was true? Like the man made of dust, so are those who are made of dust; like the heavenly man, so are those who are heavenly. yun's story (which is completely true) shows what surrendering our lives to Christ looks like. it's a clear picture of what living selflessly looks like, what being willing to go where your sent by God looks like and what trusting Him in unbearable circumstances looks like. Many people practice a kind of theology that says, "If there is smoke there must be fire." The thinking is that if there is controversy about a brother, then chances are the accusations are true, at least in part. This kind of theology is completely unbiblical and dangerous. If it were true, then Jesus would be a sinner! He was strongly accused of all kinds of sins by the Pharisees and others. He was a highly controversial figure. There was plenty of 'smoke' around Jesus, but no fire except the one burning in his heart for the lost. Numerous other Biblical figures were accused of various dirty and devious things that were untrue: Moses, Aaron, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Joshua, Joseph, the Apostle Paul... just to name a few.

Sexual Content- Brother Yun calls the Three-Self Church a ‘harlot’ (it’s repeated and said a total of four times); A few mentions of prostitutes and seduction; A couple cell mates say they raped women (no details); A mention of two women who were kidnapped and used as s*x slaves; A few mentions of abortion and being force not to have any more babies; When talking about his wife, Brother Yun says “After our marriage Deling and I had thought about having a baby, but at the time my name and photo was plastered everywhere by the police so we didn’t get the chance to spend much time together. On one occasion before I was arrested I secretly sneaked home and during that visit my wife conceived.”.The writing style is quite unique and simplistic and it's obvious at once that Yun has a heart for the Lord. His personality is obvious throughout and centers on being hopeful and joyful in dire circumstances.

And so I have come to the end of my "Open Letter". I thank you for spending the time reading about what is happening to a servant of God whose love for God and people is larger than anyone I have been privileged to spend time with. Have these principles of confrontation followed in this case against Brother Yun? Did Samuel Lamb or the other elderly Chinese brothers attempt to go to Brother Yun about any 'concerns' they may have?

What the earthy one is, that also are those who are earthy; and what the heavenly One is, that also are those who are heavenly. It has been said that the Midrash already speaks of the spirit (πνεῦμα) of the first Adam or of the Messiah without, however, absolutely identifying Adam and Messiah. This identification could only be made by persons who regarded only the spirit of the Scripture (meaning, of course, their conception of it) and not the letter as binding; who lived in a medium more exposed to the heathen mythology than that of the rabbinical schools. In such circles originated the Clementine "Homilies" and "Recognitions," in which the doctrine of the original man (called also in the Clementine writings "the true prophet") is of prime importance. It is quite certain that this doctrine is of Judæo-Christian origin. The identity of Adam and Jesus seems to have been taught in the original form of the Clementine writings. The "Homilies" distinctly assert: (" Hom." iii. 20). As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. I don't expect to write anything else on this matter, as I feel I have pretty much said all that needs to be said. People are free to either accept it or not.

To start with, this book is pretty intense. The things that Brother Yun went through are incredibly horrifying that no man should ever have to go through. The miracles that happen to Yun are pretty incredible as well and I can see why they are met with skepticism. Reflecting on both the miracles and the `everybody' language, a new thought occurred to me: Yun's book closely resembles the book of Acts. And not just `closely resembles', but appears to be written as a copy of the book of Acts. Yun is saved, set apart for a mission like Paul, is miraculously transported like Philip, is part of healings and radical community like the early church, escapes from the authorities like Paul, escapes from prison like Peter--Yun is even met at the door by a girl who forgets to open it for him after his escape! Through this all my inner eye began to narrow more and more as I scrutinized Yun's book. Why does this book so closely parallel the story of Acts? Again, I must ask, is it possible for God to do these things? Certainly! But does this all add up? God give me one son and many brothers". - chapter 12 of "The Heavenly man" (Simplifed Chinese) from Qzone. Those that tend to dismiss Brother Yun in the West are often from the conservative, reformed crowd because we are naturally uncomfortable with the miraculous. Moreover, Brother Yun has spoken in some charismatic churches that some would label heretical. But it's important to listen to the man himself and not just consider the places in which he speaks. In his book, he repeatedly issues warnings that charismatics often fall into. For example: Jennifer Lee (5 August 2005). "The Author of The Heavenly Man Releases an Open Letter on Controversy". The Gospel Herald . Retrieved 10 January 2020.Brother Yun’s childlike faith and his prompt obedience to God’s call are exemplary. It is incredible that he has remained faithful to God despite the tremendous suffering and persecutions he has gone through. Bibliography
