The character-based arcs that make up the lead-in to the main event are definitely more misses than hits. You can feel free to skim through or skip the majority of them since the main event will fill you in. The exception being the Nova tie-ins which are, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. In fact, I can't quite believe we've yet to see Nova appear in an MCU feature. Collects Moon Knight (1980) #21-38, Iron Man (1968) #161, Power Man and Iron Fist (1978) #87, Marvel Team-Up (1972) #144, Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu (1985) #1-6, and Marvel Fanfare (1982) #30. Also includes material from Solo Avengers (1987) #3, Marvel Fanfare (1982) #38-39, Marvel Super-Heroes (1990) #1. Collects Star Wars: Doctor Aphra (2016) #1-40; Star Wars: Doctor Aphra Annual (2017) #1-3; Darth Vader (2015) #3-4, 8, 21, 25; Star Wars (2015) 13, 19, 31-32; and Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel (2017) #1. Also includes material from Star Wars: Empire Ascendant (2020) #1. Keith Giffen & Andy Schmidt Answer Your "Annihilation" Questions, Part 2, Comic Book Resources, February 21, 2006Super Skrull: I think I disliked the artwork in this series the most. Which is too bad, because it probably had some of the better character development in the storyline [on the one hand]. Kl'rt goes from being a loser and a buffoon to a hero over the course of the series [but still a fallen hero, as he is not above torture to get what the end results that he so desires]. One thing that bugged me was not that he shows up on Earth and seeks help from Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four but that Reed Richards never tells the other heroes of Earth about this Annihilation Wave that was heading their way. It might have been a smart thing to do, and it might have helped end some of the stupid 'Civil War' that was going on between the 'heroes' at the time on Earth. One thing I did like was Kl'rt's plan to enter the Negative Zone to find a way to defeat a mobile processing plant from killing his son. He finds a batch of powerful allies in the form of former prisoners who join him in his quest for revenge/salvation.
