The illustrations are just so much fun. The illustrator really managed to make the vehicles look like dinosaurs but also like vehicles. Often you can clearly recognise the dinosaur it is supposed to be and some definitely were more fantasy. There are tons of details that make each dinosaur unique and fun.

This book will also be fun to do in storytime. It involves all sorts of construction equipment and dinosaurs. It's a rhyming book which is a favorite of mine =D It also talks about teamwork! I read this one in Dutch, but decided to write my book in English. I love dinosaurs, but I also love building machines and this one combines both of that in a wonderful and fun way that will enchant people like me, but also definitely kids. DIGGERSAURS EXPLORE is a delightful sequel to the book taking the toddler world by storm! Whether you have a little one who loves construction vehicles or dinosaurs, diggersaurs are a charming expansion of these concepts into a cohesive story. In this book, the diggersaurs that we met in the first book are going exploring. They hope that they will find gold or maybe something old. Along the way, they encounter challenges that the diggersaurs use their special skills to solve (for instance, huge grassy bumps that the mowersaurus mows while the rollersaurus rolls them flat). Can your guests transport their dino egg safely to its nest without dropping it? And who will get there first?

The space between is the jungle. The kids need to run to the other side of the jungle without getting caught. Last one standing is the winner! Talk about the names for the different diggersaurs, lots of them have names that are about the job they do. Perhaps you could make up more together. Meet the Roversaurs - an awesome combination of dinosaur and spacecraft. They busy on Mars, tunnelling through the ground, mapping new territory, testing soil samples and growing plants - what do they have planned? And might they need some help from the Diggersaurs?

Accompanied by Henkes’ signature charming watercolors, presented in panels outlined in brown, the spare, quiet prose differentiates between the “big things and little things in the world.” This work goes beyond many similar concept books by encouraging children to consider the enormity of the sea, the sun, and the moon in contrast to “little animals. Tiny flowers. Pebbles. Things so small you can’t see them.” The last sentence is pictured with an empty box. Children may question this representation of infinitesimal objects, leading adults to start a discussion about atoms or bacteria. Kids have an innate interest in their surrounding world and the science that explains it. This book will work on several levels. At its simplest, it’s a consideration of big and little that will be enhanced by the pictures. On another level, connections between Earth and space, between sea and land, or between animals and humans may become the focus. The diverse children pictured will invite readers to place themselves in the scenarios Henkes presents: holding “a little animal” or noticing a patch of the big sun “on the rug on your floor.” Perfect for family reading, this will also work with groups at schools or libraries. (This book was reviewed digitally.) Buy a selection of mini dinosaur toys and either place one in each gift bag, or put them in a box with a sign on saying 'adopt a dinosaur'. Turn the egg and spoon race on its head by using toy dino eggs. You could even build a nest from twigs or straw where kids have to place them when they finish the race. Casper enjoys pretending that his toys have turned into Diggersaurs and gives them all names after the sounds they make - his favourite is KERLUNK(ASAURUS)! These monstera leaves are really easy to make. Just draw a big leaf (or find an image of a leaf online and print it off), then cut it out and use it as your template. Draw round the template and cut your shapes from green card or paper.These footprint biscuits are really easy to make. Buy a fossil footprint cookie stamp or just press a toy dinosaur's foot into a biscuit before you place it in the oven to bake. The story itself here is really great! There are themes of teamwork as the diggersaurs work together to move forward, calmly overcoming obstacles as the diggersaurs come up with solutions to each one that they encounter, helping others as they assist the golden diversaurus (eg, a submarine) who was buried in the sand, and following a serious of steps as the diggersaurs work to get to the beach. All of these themes are perfect for young readers. If you read this story often, children will remember the words and be able to join in as you read. They will enjoy the sound effects and may like making them with their voices or improvised instruments. The end papers are fun for this too, you could take turns saying the sounds. Tell the story Have fun with reading this story aloud dramatically, including the sound effects. There is lots to look at in the illustrations and children may well want to talk about some of the diggersaurs. Join in All in all, I had so much fun reading this. It made me very happy and that is just what I need at the moment. Something to make me forget the world. I would recommend this to all.

Final verdict: Delightful, charming, and silly, DIGGERSAURS is a new favorite for young readers, whether they love construction vehicles, dinosaurs, or just fun stories. This is definitely a book series to watch! If you prefer your dinosaurs cute and cuddly, try making some out of fondant to decorate your dinosaur birthday cake. He likes to make the noises and make me guess which Diggersaur he is - so I am fast being able to distinguish my CHOMPS from my NOM-NOMS!” This is lots of fun and will keep the kids entertained for ages. Fill a large container of sandpit with slightly damp sand and bury toy dinosaur bones and fossils.
