About this deal

Here’s the thing: I hate books with twins. I didn’t know that there would be twins when I started reading this so I tried to push past it (I promise I really did). Like usual with twins in books, there’s secrets, competitive (ish) attitudes, good-twin/bad-twin complexes, and all around a lot of hurt on both sides. I could have moved on past all of this. What I couldn’t move past was the MMC’s relationship with the twin. The book starts when Delilah, at eighteen, is in love with her brother's best friend, Dante. We read how they end up together and the family dynamics. Fast forward a few years later, part and barely seen each other are now thrown together in a unique situation. I came across this author on BookTok and so thankful I did because Shain sent me the ARC of this book (as well as Shattered Vows!) As much as I enjoyed Shattered Vows, this book was my favorite of the two! It was steamy and hot, while also giving you the super sweet moments of the brother's best friend/childhood crush tropes. Dante was a DREAM. I very much am manifesting him as my future husband because he was hot and somewhat morally-gray, while being the literally cutest human on the planet. Very big fan. I haven’t had a 5 star book in a while!! This book was it. I love Dante and Delilah. Their chemistry is from chapter one. Caste or religion is not the principal contradiction in India; India is a semi-feudal and semi-colonial country. A new democratic revolution should be the focus of the revolutionary class.

Ghandy misunderstood Mao, though he claimed to be a Maoist. Mao ZeDong's key contribution to the theory of revolutionary struggle is in focusing on the "principal contradiction." A revolutionary must not be distracted or detracted by the several contradictions in the society, which contradictions have historically evolved, rather than planned by a set of selfish cabal. In fact, in 1 CE India accounted for 33 per cent of world GDP, while UK, France and Germany combined had a mere 3 per cent. Even as late as 1700, on the eve of British rule in India, India produced 25 per cent of world GDP while Britain was just over 2 per cent. By the time the British left in 1947, India was reduced to barely 3 per cent of world GDP while a tiny country like Britain had increased to 10 per cent. As early as the twelfth century, India produced the best quality of steel and its swords were in demand all over the world." The Wire (in Marathi). 16 January 2022. Archived from the original on 21 December 2022 . Retrieved 21 December 2022. The book is based on communism(Marxism) ideology. Communism is a return of a man himself as a social, i.e., really human being, a complete and conscious return. This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. Dom was way too protective of both his sisters, and I’d already gotten one fist to the face after taking Izzy on a date. The book is poorly written both in form and substance. Filled with regret and self-pity, it is with repetitive lament that Ghandy spent 10 years in prison. As a prison memoir, this is of very low quality. A better one on prison conditions in India is "My years in an Indian Prison" by Mary Tyler. As a revolutionary memoir, probably the best is the "Notes from the Gallows" by Julius Fucik, the Czech socialist who wrote from a Nazi prison. i enjoyed the touch of darkness in dante's personality as much as the golden retriever in him...he is the perfect combination of good and bad

This book will take you through the journey of honest man. He and his wife Anurdha dedicated their live to service marginalised. One can say this is honest reflection of ideology. The books that are born out of experience always are worth a treasure. They show life and real things. Fractured Freedom by Kobad Ghandy is one such book. Kobad Ghandy was born into a well-off family. He did his schooling at the famous Doon School, and after completing his college education from St. Xavier College, Mumbai, he went to the UK to do his CA. Unfortunately, he was a victim of racism that was the most prevalent in the 1970s in Europe. He wanted to know the causes of racial discrimination and read extensively on India’s colonial legacy from the books by BC Dutt, Dadabhai Naoroji and others at the British Museum Library. He realised the socio-political issues that complemented colonial rule. Loksatta (in Marathi). 12 November 2021. Archived from the original on 21 December 2022 . Retrieved 21 December 2022.

I wonder about the psychology of a person who has studied from Doon School followed by education from London and landing up in Tihar Jail. Kobad Ghandy is a Parsi intellectual who worked tirelessly for the underprivileged of the society for four decades. I am literally angry that I read this whole book. This book would have been maybe 5-10 chapters if the main character weren't so OBTUSE it hurt. The only tension from this book stems from the fact that even though the man in literally telling her to her face she is his and it's forever but she can't comprehend what is in front of her. It's lazy and dumb.Sukumar Shidore of Loksatta wrote "As the content of the book is multi-dimensional, it is hoped that the discerning reader will delve into its various aspects". [5] Milind Champanerkar of The Wire wrote "Considering the singular images of 'gunmen, burakhadhari', it seems that this book can provide a lot of insight into the reality, breaking through the myths about the extreme left". [6] Controversy [ edit ] What really sealed the deal for me was that he lied to the FMC about various things but when she finally admits to the pregnancy and loss of the baby that she has basically told no one about he gets pissy with her? And she’s sitting there sobbing about this super emotional thing that she’s kept bottled up and has been dealing with all by herself and he starts talking about how he’s “always thinking about how to get people to submit” to him? Yeah… that’s totally the correct way to handle a situation like that… This book covers some heavy subjects that I feel are super relatable to a lot of people, especially women (i.e. miscarriages) as well as things like heartbreak, anxiety, and depression. But it overall helped the characters become more relatable and I loved how their broken pieces just fit each other so well. Their romance had all the tension and heat, while giving you some tiny swoonworthy moments between the couple. Shain Rose is an author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She fights for love one word a time. Those happily ever afters can be difficult to get to sometimes! Ghandy fell into the imperialist trap when he focused on the Dalit issue. Ambedkar was by no means a revolutionary; he was, whether willingly or otherwise, an imperialist agent, having been indoctrinated at Columbia University.
