About this deal

Created in partnership between Olmeca master distiller Jesús Hernández and two top bartenders from the UK, this 100% agave tequila hailing from the Highland region of Jalisco boasts a nose full of agave character, alongside grass, citrus and spring blossom. These characters continue onto the palate, accompanied by a chalky hint and a cocoa finish. Alc 38% This limited Chicago release has me screaming dulce de leche! That and marzipan notes on the finish. Yet it holds on (heavily) to agave on the forefront,” Bailon says. “Being cask strength allows for these flavors to come out on a bigger platform. Where the Gran Dovejo Añejo retains a lot of these nuances as well, the cask strength just fires off at first sip.” In essence, G4 Tequila captivates with its remarkable quality, a palatable journey from the vibrant and pure Blanco to the rich and nuanced Extra Añejo. Each sip is a taste of the rich Jaliscan soil and a nod to the adept hands that crafted it.

Here, I’m not just sharing opinions; I’m weaving tales from the rich tapestry of my experiences over these three decades. Flavor: Nuttiness with baking spices on top of the honey sweet baked agave. Soft heat and oily. Rounded appealing flavor profile. A sustainable operation allows Camarena to save money on operation costs, and put those savings toward the production of a heavenly tasting tequila unlike any other that I've ever had before.

Single Barrel update 2: The Bientrucha Group (Illinois) selected barrel is the best yet! Aged 10 months, this is similar to the Maple Lake selection but slightly more balanced. My favorite G4 Repo so far. 90 rating. After cooking the piñas are pressed and shredded to release the sugary juice, which is left to ferment for 24-96 hours. It is then distilled to produce tequila. Fortaleza Blanco and Siete Leguas Blanco make the best alternatives as they are also additive-free and crafted by top distillers. El Tequileño Reposado Rare is absolutely unique, not only for its aging method—as they blend añejo tequilas that have been aged for over six years in a ‘pipon,’ which is a wooden oak tank that’s able to hold more than 23,000 liters of tequila—but for its depth of flavor and deep finish,” Quiñonez says. “With its elegant notes of dried fruit, ripe pineapple, honey and cooked agave, I recommend using a tequila glass or a champagne flute to truly take in the expression’s bold flavors and luxurious taste.” This is the perfect dessert-style reposado, to sip neat or with a large cube of ice,” says Quiñonez. “It has a velvety feel with notes of chocolate vanilla, cinnamon, and butterscotch with complex spices such as chile de arbol and clove. Expressive from nose to finish. The pretty bottles make for interesting conversation as well.”

I absolutely love this añejo: so expressive on the nose with notes of bourbon, butterscotch, dried fruit, figs, and raisins,” says Quiñonez. “Beautifully rich on the palate with a silky finish. I recommend enjoying this añejo with a dessert or cigar pairing.”It is an authentic Tequila that is free from any additives or chemicals, giving you a genuine and satisfying drinking experience. Special, limited Edition, highly collectable, this 6000 bottle release in custom hand-made coffin boxes, honors Dia de Los Muertos with every unique touch and brings to life a 10 year dream of Felipe in honoring the dead. When we arrive at the front of his distillery, we are greeted by a water fountain that I initially assume is just there for glamour—but everything at Destileria El Pandillo serves an Earth-friendly purpose. "That water in that fountain is what I catch whenever it rains here. I keep it consistently running to keep it fresh. I never use my well water supply, to save it for the future." Finish: Ultra smooth, one of the cleanest finishes of any reposado I’ve tried. I feel like you can almost taste the smooth minerality of the rain water El Pandillo is famed for using.

Lemongrass and fresh cut sweet grass—with hints of clay. This is a fun expression that sets itself apart.” Made by Felipe Camarena, G4 is a testament to the mad scientist approach he takes in producing his tequilas. From modifying steamrollers to crush his agave, through to collecting and using rainwater in this tequila, he doesn’t take any shortcuts. The result is an expressive, floral nose and an oily, viscous palate with incredible minerality, cream, agave and spicy white pepper.
