About this deal

It seems like it would make a very compact, light weight but incredibly sturdy travel tripod for a pretty incredible price. I have several Manfrotto tripods including a nice set of 055 3 segment carbon fiber legs. The Innorel seems like it would be lighter, more compact, higher weight rating and considerably sturdier with no center column. I did a lot of searching and reading on the Innorel tripods, there just isn't much written on them. I kind of have formed the opinion that they might be kind of like the Godox of tripods. (Flashes competing with the OEM flashes but at a much better price and considerably more features). Everything I have read points to Manfrotto or Gitzo quality at a MUCH lower price. The centre column has a notch so it won't rotate which is a surprisingly annoying issue I have had with other tripods. There was a shard of carbon fiber on the centre column which did give me a small splinter when I first extended it but it must have been a one off issue as I could find no other sharp points anywhere on the tripod - the finish is excellent.

TFB Review: Innorel RT90C Carbon Fiber Tripod with Really

The Innorel tripods are Made in China. I know some people will have issues with that, the decision is yours. The ball head from Really Right Stuff is Made in the USA. I think it’s interesting to combine these two solutions and see where it leads to. High-end meets low-end. I wonder how this tripod will perform for long exposure shots (5 min.) in windy conditions. Have you tried it in something like this? The minimum height is a measure of how close to the ground the tripod can get. In all three cases this will be with the plate in place, as even the levelling head will force the tripod higher. Height is from the ground to the plate; in real world activity, you need to add the height of the tripod head. The maximum height is without a centre column (only available on the Innorel RT90C which, for completeness, raises the height to 200cm). Weight I remain extremely happy with this tripod. It has gone through an extremely challenging winter of photography here in Iceland with me and looks almost brand new. I've had to clean it a couple of times after using on the beach and it's easy to do and works perfectly after.

The Innorel RT90C has a flat plate top, which is consistent with top range tripods from other manufacturers. This configuration provides excellent stability and the flat plate can be swapped out with the supplied bowl and levelling base (included) or the centre column (optional extra). Innorel RT90C Legs The centre column on the RT85C is removable so you can choose how you want to use it. I had to ask them about this to receive the instructions and they don't seem to advertise it anywhere but I'm glad I went for this version now for sure as I can choose what I want.I wrote to Innorel and they sent a video but it’s still not clear how now would use it without the center column. If I would recommend improvements they would be to replace the hanging hook from the centre column. It's a generic version and whilst it'll do the job, it's the only bit that looks a bit cheap. I'd also like to see Innorel develop a tall tripod without the centre column, similar to the Gitzo top end tripods. They do have one already but it's not as tall. Heavier and more expensive, oh well, but I think the Innorel 90 maybe might be the better choice (mainly thinking about the 40mm diameter of the top leg segments and the bigger bowl diameter). AOKA KT324C Reflexed tripod portable heavy duty big 22kgs loading capacity professional camera tripod This was my thinking too. I should have mentioned that I will be using this tripod for hiking with my A7Riv, 16-105 F/4 and 12-16 F/4. This tripod should be plenty sturdy for my kit and less than 4lbs for the legs.

The number of leg sections is identical and the size when folded is not significantly different. Neither is there a significant difference in weight between the Gitzo and the Innorel. The lower weight of the 3 Legged Thing being accounted for by the diameter of the legs – again the play-off between weight and stability. ConclusionWhat’s your favorite tripod setup?
