By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land. Many of these had been raised under the excesses of those who were responsible for the carnage. Had they grown to adults, they would, in all likelihood, follow precisely the same footsteps as their horribly depraved parents. What we often fail to appreciate is that all young children are unaccountable for their actions. This is true until a child reaches an age of accountability. God is, in fact, sparing these children from spiritual death: eternal torture in the flames of Hell. This is an act of profound mercy. So it's really fabulous to discover award-winning kids’ and YA author William Hussey, whose oeuvre swarms across horror, crime, and romcoms, has done managed this hard task with real flair and aplomb in his first adult thriller, Killing Jericho. Like Hussey himself, Scott Jericho is a gay man who grew up in the travelling fairground community. Unlike Hussey, Jericho is a former cop recently out of prison, having lost his job and freedom for beating a violent arsonist during an interrogation. He's also balanced earlier stints of being a 'heavy' for bad men with university studies among dreaming spires. This was, no doubt, the "tip of the iceberg"; there were surely many other abominations that all of the cities of Canaan practiced — including Jericho. God has likely only scratched the surface of the deviance and barbarity of these people. So I have preliminarilyset myself a target of 45books. I can obviously edit this later but I amconscious of the fact that I would like life to return to normal at some point this year and as it doesthat wouldprobably mean less time to read and 45 seems like a good, manageable number. I changed my target twice last year, from 30 to 40, then 40 to 50 and once I'd hit 50 I just thought Iwould leave it and enjoy everything else I read.

Note that even the animals had become defiled by such depravity; this is why they too had to be destroyed. We further read:Joshua said to the two men ( AE) who had spied out ( AF) the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her. ( AG)” 23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. ( AH) They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel. Jericho is a detective unlike any other. And one to watch.” David J Gatward, author of the DCI Harry Grimm thrillers We meet Scott while he is living in a trailer at his dad’s Travelling fairground. There has never been a Traveller Detective in fiction until now, and in Scott Jericho, we have an amazing main character, he is damaged by his past but has the rare skill of being able to read people with aplomb, he is a complex but ultimately loveable character, I’ve fallen for him from this, the first book in an (i hope long!) series! Story is based in a small town in England. Scott Jericho is an ex-cop, who was sentenced for badly beating up a suspect in the ongoing murder case, who happened to be a Nazi, who hates all the immigrants. And this is just the beginning of the book.

Digging Up Jericho: Past, Present and Future. Archaeopress Publishing Ltd. ISBN 978-1789693522.After passing the test in bloody fashion and hearing Professor Campbell’s message – “Tell Jericho … that they’re calling out to him: the dead of Travellers Bridge” – Jericho feels compelled to investigate further. It’s the first time he has felt any interest in anything in months, and the link to traveller lore means he’s unable to resist learning more, especially when murder is mentioned. William Hussey’s Killing Jericho is the thrilling introduction to a detective cut from an entirely new mould. Scott Jericho is an openly gay traveller, grew up on the fairground circuit, went to Oxford to read English literature, then worked as muscle for hire in London’s criminal underworld. He is also a former cop, drummed out of the Metropolitan Police and jailed after savagely beating a murder suspect, which derailed the case. Then a series of bizarre murders comes to light - deaths that echo a century-old fairground legend. The police can't connect the victims. But Jericho knows how the legend goes; that more murders are certain to follow.
