Description

G12 Grapefruit & Mandarin Gin is a gin that doesn’t actually focus on the orange fruit. However, the combination of the fresh and juicy grapefruit with the sweet and tangy mandarin makes for a flavor that’s extremely reminiscent of orange. Both of these citruses are responsible for a wonderful taste of fruity, tangy orange. Even though the actual orange isn’t present here, it definitely tastes as if it’s here.

Besides the use of oranges, Malfy’s Gin Con Arancia also uses juniper berries and blood oranges extensively. These three main botanicals come together to create a pure gin with a strong and dominant flavor of orange. The City Of London is a British distillery based in the heart of London. They used their signature London Gin as the base for their Murcian Orange Gin and infused it with many lovely botanicals. Redcastle’s gins have become increasingly popular over the last few years. Especially in Scotland, the brand’s popularity has been rising quite steadily. Aside from just gin, Redcastle also specializes in spiced rum and prosecco. The beauty of blood oranges is that they are not your average citrus fruit. Their deep red color and sweet, tangy flavor make them stand out in any dish or drink. An orange-flavored gin is a gin that’s heavily infused with orange, pushing the flavor to the forefront. In addition, a hint of juniper berry will be on the forefront as well, otherwise, it can’t be called a gin. Ice - be sure to add lots of ice to a gin and tonic - ice keeps the carbonation in your tonic, so the bubbles stay fizzy! I love using pebble ice in gin and tonics instead of a large ice cube. This gin has a fresh and vibrant taste, just like the color of the actual gin itself. Citruses are at the forefront, especially the orange, making for a juicy, sweet, and slightly tangy flavor.

This gin has got some very strong and sweet orange notes. It’s recommended to drink with tonic or soda water, but it’s also a perfect gin to drink neat. Because the gin itself already has a ton of strong flavors, you don’t necessarily need to mix it. 8. J.J. Whitley Blood Orange Gin The creators of St. Ives Liquor all gained their knowledge about spirits and liquor unknowingly through experience from working as bartenders. It depends on personal preferences which of these gins you should buy. If you’re going for aesthetics, then something like the Malfy Gin Con Arancia is great because of its vibrant colors, but also the Fallen Angel Blood Orange Gin is a good option due to its flashy and kind of creepy bottle. Pretty much all of these gins are great for a nice, refreshing summer drink. Most of them work pretty well in a classic gin & tonic with some Mediterranean tonic water. It’s also greatly recommended to try these fruity en sweet gins in a spritz as an afternoon or cordial drink. Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin has a bright and fresh flavor, bursting with sweet and juicy blood oranges. Added to the dominant blood orange are hints of juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, angelica root, licorice, lemon, and orangeWhitley Neill is one of the best-selling gins in the UK and is a very well-respected brand in the gin industry. Whitley Neill has an extremely long history as a gin brand. The Neill family has been distilling gin since 1762! Sipsmith Orange & Cacao is an incredibly unique gin that takes the much-loved combination of chocolate and orange and combines it with gin. In addition to the jammy orange flavor, you can find a piney undertone of juniper berries and a fruity touch of raspberries. Beefeater, unlike many gin distillers, actually provides a list of most (not all of course) of the botanicals used in their gin. Their blood orange gin consists of a mix of 10 botanicals ranging from the obvious juniper berries and blood orange to licorice, coriander, and lemon peel to name a few.

The Aber Falls Orange Marmelade gin is something to behold. This is a gin with the most intense, jammy taste of orange, truly living up to its marmalade name. The base for this gin is a classic dry gin, infused with your typical gin botanicals. Added to that are the mandarin and grapefruit. Jared says he loves to experiment with natural ingredients found locally to produce special edition spirits and it shows. The base of this gin is from the Liverpool distillery itself, made with their secret recipe. Added to this concoction is the zest of Valencian oranges, giving the gin a juicy, fruity flavor. Fallen Angel Blood Orange Gin This is a truly wonderful gin that perfectly encapsulates summer in a bottle. The fresh flavors of mandarin, paired with the freshness of orange blossom make for a drink that will be unmissable in the summer. Many people like this gin best with a nice tonic. This is because the orange is fresh and the cacao makes it rich. However, the cacao isn’t done in an overly sweet way, still leaving you with a refreshing drink. If there’s one fruit I can’t get enough of from December to April, it’s blood oranges. This orange-skinned fruit with a crimson red flesh is one of the most gorgeous citrus fruits available. Its beautiful color and raspberry-like flavor give this Blood Orange Gin and Tonic its signature twist!

Blood oranges can be used practically anywhere regular oranges or orange juice is used. Add the juice or fresh orange slices to a fruity sangria recipe, in mimosas, and even fruit salad! The history of gin and tonics Use different tonics. Try fevertree elderflower tonic, Indian tonic, or Mediterranean tonic to change up the flavors of this drink. Along with the juniper berries, however, is a zesty, sweet flavor of orange, making this gin stand out from your typical juniper-forward gin. Oranges are universally loved for their sweet, juicy, and fruity flavor. And because oranges taste so amazing, they’re commonly used to flavor certain foods and drinks as well. The prices of these bottles are a bit high compared to other spirits, but with Fallen Angel, you not only get a very nice drink, but you can also use the bottle in which it comes as a decoration if you like. TW Kempton Blood Orange Gin Liqueur is a blast of citruses in a bottle. This is once again a gin liqueur, so it will be a little sweeter, but this gin liqueur still has dominant elements of the juniper berries. Add gin, ice, and simple syrup to a glass. If adding any herbs, add to glass and lightly press against glass to release some oil and aroma into drink.
