The Naturehike Cloud Up is a freestanding 2-layer tent meant for 3-season use. It is available in 1P, 2P and 3P sizes. The only downside I can see is the relatively limited gear storage space. Although the Cloud Up 1 is also a little heavier than some of the other tents we have reviewed, it should be kept in mind that it’s both double-skinned and also freestanding. Taking that into account, both the weight and price of this thing are actually quite impressive. The gear is designed and manufactured in China. What’s So Special About Naturehike Tents Compared to Other Tents? It might seem like you’re getting a great deal on your tent, but the vast majority of cheap tents will start tearing and leaking on the first trip. With a waterproof coating of up to 3000mm, the Cloud Up 2 is slightly less water-resistant than the Cloud Up 1. That said, 3000mm is more than enough for most camping conditions, especially if you correctly pitch out the guy lines to prevent moisture from transferring to the inner tent.

Overall, the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 is a fantastic tent that puts portability, durability, and affordability at the forefront of its design. This storage space is essential if you’re going to be using the tent with three people. It also provides a sheltered area where you can prepare meals if the weather is foul. IMPORTANT MODEL NOTE: I have an older, out-of-production version. The new (current) is about 150 grams heavier, has more pole structure at the rear, a ventilation flap, and mid-fin side guys. The FlyCreek UL2 claims to weigh just 1lb 15oz, but this is without the stakes and a ground sheet. The ground sheet (aka footprint) that they recommend costs nearly half as much as the Naturehike CloudUp 2 and weighs 5oz. That brings the total weight of the 2.9lbs.I love that this tent has two doors because it really does transform your camping experience if you are sharing your tent. It also has sealed seams to protect you from the rain; these seams aren’t always present in Naturehike tents. So, what’s the verdict after our first look at the Naturehike Cloud Up Tent? We went into this expecting to find a perhaps slightly lower quality (given the price) version of the Big Agnes Fly Creek. But to be honest, the quality of craftsmanship looks very impressive. I would say almost comparable to the Fly Creek itself. We always advise a few test runs with pitching a new tent before heading out on the trail and we think that’s especially important with this tent.
