About this deal

It’s interesting to see the stages some of the characters went through and even some characters/designs/concepts that didn’t make the cut. Udon is hoping to release Persona 5 + P5R Official Design Works in Spring 2022. Either way, it should be out next year and I’m definitely going to get it. Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal are phenomenal games. Read our review of Persona 5 Royal here. Hopefully Udon also announces a Persona 5 Strikers artbook soon. As a personal side-project, I’ve decided to translate parts of the AMAZING Persona 5 artbook (seriously, I’d recommend it... though beware as it contains major spoilers). So, as a Happy “Day-P5-Was-Supposed-To-Be-Released-Except-Lol-Delay” present, enjoy some character profile information, a lot of which is really interesting. Don’t worry, there are non spoilers in this. (One of the profiles DID contain a MASSIVE SPOILER, but I’ll remove it when posting it here).

I already own the Royal one that came with the Royal collectors edition, and I'm assuming the OG Persona 5 has a artbook too, same with Persona 5 Strikers except that one is exclusive to Japan. Finally gonna be released! memfitur sketch, karakter, design dan juga special illustration dri shigenori soejima dalam game hits atlus Persona 5 lebih dr 500 halaman !! Collecting all of people’s concept arts from main characters and their Personas to confidants and antagonists. Shigenori Soejima is a Japanese illustrator, graphic designer and currently an employee of Atlus' Japanese branch. He is best known for his work on both Persona 3 and Persona 4 and is responsible for the art direction of the Persona Team's games. His style is nowadays defined by the vibrant colors in his artwork that create a certain sense of lighting as well as his characters that resemble typical manga-styled figures. I’m mostly doing this to practice my translation skills, so I’ll be doing these on my own time when I feel like it. Be aware that they take a while, so bear with me. There are probably translations of the artbook info already out there, but I’ll stay away from them: I want to see how much I can translate on my own. Beautiful and inspiring artwork with informative creator commentary on the thought process behind the designs.

Soejima follows a personal rule while designing mascots - for color palettes, he uses a "toy color" set of red, yellow and blue. This rule applies to Aigis, Teddie and Morgana. [1]Prima Games is the largest publishing company of video game strategy guides in the United States based in Roseville, California. Formerly, Prima was an imprint of Dorling Kindersley, a division of Penguin Random House, and produced print strategy guides, featuring in-depth walkthroughs for completing games, with other information such as character sheets and move chart. Just bought the art book after holding it off for an insanely long time. I was able to find a good deal on the japanese version, which is great since the english version seems to be super expensive now, but I'm really interested in the comments that describe the creation process.

This is more a rought draft and “sneak preview” than anything. Just wanted to get these up by today. I’ve done everyone except Haru (who I’m about 90% on) so far. (I don’t intend to post the final party member as promotional materials kept them under wraps, so I want to respect that.) I really wish we had more notes about concept sketches- I can sort of guess who/what some of them are, but the business lady in a dress with butterfly hair clips- was she supposed to be an alternative Sae? Possibly a direct quote from her? And the “certain kind of instant yakisoba” is probably something that shows up in the game itself, I’ll probably understand this better once I play the game.Game Visuals: Chronicles the inspiration behind graphics seen in the game, including setting illustrations, story scenarios, and other key images. Udon will release the Persona 5 Official Design Works (released in 2016 in Japan) in English next year as announced at Comic-Con @home 2021 (via Persona Central). This release will also include artwork from Persona 5 Royal added to the end and the complete release will be titled Persona 5 + P5R Official Design Works. I bought the original 2016-released Japanese artbook for Persona 5 and skipped the Prima Games released English version because it was missing content and because I wasn’t sure about the print quality given the publisher’s recent releases I bought at the time. It is good to see Udon do it now with how good the publisher’s artbooks are. This book was originally published in Japan. Persona 5 : The original art book features all character concepts, confidants, bosses with the creator’s comment! Concept Art: Loaded with initial character concepts, rough sketches, original drafts, and illustrations-a must-have for Persona fans! in the Shin Megami Tensei Network interview, Matt Moylan teases that the company has Persona unannounced books that the company has licensed, as well as books that they are working on licensing.

Shin Megami Tensei Network recently released a podcast episode with Udon Entertainment Director of Publishing Matt Moylan, in which he further describes the plans for the upcoming, first physical English release of the Persona 5 art book. More screenshots have been released for the upcoming Royal remake thanks to Famitsu, a recent interview revealed that there will be a save bonus for those who played the original Persona 5, and we even have more gameplay gleaned from a new trailer. It's always so fascinating to have all the initial concept sketches, illustrations, ideas and behind the scene makings of the stunning Persona 5 game compiled into a large art book. An absolute must get for any Persona 5 fan or artist who adores Shigenori Soejima's work because you will not be disappointed with the amount of artistic content this art book contains. Unlike the Dishonored 2 artbook, which I "read"/ feasted upon just the day after, I found there were too many characters/random stuff instead of beautiful sketches and landscapes. Hence the 4*.Everything is well laid out and the style is just amazing, I’m addicted to some of the pictures in this book.
