Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. Another experiment using the "Smarties task" shows a similar pattern. Children are shown a sweet box labelled "Smarties" and they're asked what's inside. The children all guess there's sweets inside, but the contents are revealed to be pencils. When a puppet named Johnny appears, four-year-old children correctly answer that Johnny will think the box contains Smarties. Younger children say that Johnny thinks the box holds pencils. I hope you have as much fun crocheting my Sally doll and her Weebee doll friends as I and many others have!

More recently, some researchers have suggested that the tasks may simply be failing to detect more nuanced evidence for theory-of-mind abilities.

Without it, we would greatly struggle to communicate with each other, understand each other’s behavior, and we wouldn’t be known as the unique social beings that make us so special. The donor informed them that she could no longer endure hearing the doll cry in the middle of the night. Wikipedia articles incorporating a citation from the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica with Wikisource reference Administering false belief tasks while simultaneously scanning the brain and pinpointing which regions are active has led researchers to identify the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and temporo-parietal junction (TPJ), among a few other regions, as the main structures that are responsible for theory of mind. In 2009, Carla Krachun and colleagues conducted a version of the Sally-Anne task with 16 chimpanzees and five bonobos. Rather than using dolls, Sally and Anne were played by human actors. And in place of a marble, the researchers used a bit of food. The apes were encouraged to race Sally to the food in each instance.
