A Vibrant Feast: Special dinner event with author Kimberley Hasselbrink- we both cooked dishes from our new cookbooks at 18 Reasonsin San Francisco. (July 2014) This was a stunning house in Sea Ranch that we found on Vacasa. Can’t beat the hot tub’s ocean view! Erin’s goal was to make her book “entertaining, approachable and fun”. She has accomplished her goal. The recipes are simple, contain easily obtainable ingredients and none look intimidating or time consuming. I have already made 10 of her recipes in the short time I’ve had the book, all of which were tasty. THANK YOU to everyone who has bought, shared and cooked from this book over the last year, it means so much. Happy cooking!

How can culture mediate in the post-disaster forested landscape? How can food become a tool for the forest’s transformation? Beautiful, original artwork full of tiny details, including over 50 easter eggs to discover as you solve the puzzle My fourth cookbook is The Forest Feast Mediterranean. Jon had a sabbatical from work so I pitched a travel book to my publisher and they went for it! We took our infant and toddler along for the ride and hit up Spain, Italy, France and Portugal over the course of 3 months. I created vegetarian versions of dishes I saw along the way and also created recipes inspired by regional produce and products we tasted. What’s grown in the western Mediterranean is quite similar to what we have in California, so it felt like a natural extension of my cooking. a Craftsman cabin, built by the owners in the mountains near Big Sur. There was a wood-fired sauna & an outdoor bathtub!
When people ask which book they should buy, it’s so hard for me to choose (like choosing one of my children!)… Here’s a little more info on each: Too much rosemary. Still, the positives far outweighed that one negative, so I certainly won't hold that against it. It's a great addition to any kitchen, and makes vegetarian entertaining simple and a joy. This is my third “magic puzzle,” I’ve also completed the gemstone caverns one and the mouse izakaya one, and this is as usual a delight. Well printed pieces, a fun and deep image to put together with the usual easter eggs dotted throughout. In addition, there’s also the “secret” to be revealed and this one is fun too – I didn’t manage to guess the reveal ahead of time this entry!I would recommend for puzzle lovers everywhere and for any family activity for ages 12+ (maybe lower with a lot of parental guidance).

For two summers, I interned at Locatelli Partners in Milan, specialized in the retail sector, interior and furniture design. I was able to witness the development of conceptual stores for major retail brands and had the opportunity to work on the furniture design for Rinascente Department Store in Rome. A craigslist ad for a little cabin in the woods 12 years ago changed the course of my career like I could have never imagined. My blog and first couple books were entirely inspired by cooking in that first cabin we lived in. I recently planted a borage plant in our little garden box…those pretty small blue edible flowers. Seriously, get this puzzle!
