About this deal

First of all, I love how the 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95 looks on my X-Pro3. Both lens and camera are reminiscent of old-school film cameras so I feel good even before I leave home. I can’t say that the 35mm from 7Artisans is a better lens than Fuji’s 35mm F1.4. Actually, the Fuji XF35mm F1.4 has better sharpness, contrast, chromatic aberration and almost anything else. But the 7Artisans has something else. I can’t tell exactly what it is, but that hidden thing makes me use it day after day! As I said in the first section, I recommend a lens hood to protect the front element from direct sunlight.

It is sharp (in center), contrasty (when stopped down a bit), and has accurate colors (except at wider aperture, where things cool considerably).

To use another analogy, the 35mm Summicron is like a set of studio monitors and the TTArtisan is a pair of BEATS headphones. If you want ultimate fidelity, listen on monitors. If you want the bass to rattle your fillings, go with the BEATS. If you want your images to be viewed like there was no lens, use the ‘cron. If you want to filter your photographic vision through a (literal) lens that can seriously bend some light and make things pop, try the TTArtisan.

By comparison the Zhong Yi 50mm 0.95 III designed for E-mount shows similarly bad corners but the midframe looks quite a bit better from f/2.0 onwards. infinity (24mp Leica M10) The 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95 is not replacing my Fujifilm choice at 35mm. Nor would I buy this before I already had one of the Fujifilm 35mm lenses. It may be an acquired taste shooting at f/0.95 exclusively but think of it as a different paintbrush and with a bit of patience I think you can create unique images with this lens. Thanks for all that. That is indeed pretty minimal difference and I've heard a lot of good things about the TT f1.2. I mostly wanted f0.95 to mess around with and see how many select focus shots I could get at greater distances (i.e. more medium format look). I'm not a portrait shooter, so it'd just be a specialty look fun lens. And in this perspective, it is then important to say the TTArtisan 35mm ƒ0.95 is 1% the price of the Leica 50mm Noctilux and easily only approximately 33% of its weight, and we cannot run from the laws of physics in lens design.

35mm F0.95 – TTArtisan APS-C 35mm F0.95 – TTArtisan

TTArtisan is a brand doing pretty well with its releases, and I look forward to seeing its future releases for both Leica M mount and Fujifilm X-mount.

When looking for an f/0.95 lens the bokeh rendering will most likely be the most important aspect to you, it most certainly is for me. When I decided to buy the 7Artisans, I thought I would use it from time to time when I wanted to play around and have some creamy bokeh. But it has been my daily driver since day one. I’ve taken it to photo walks, weekends, hikes, vacations etc. I’ve had it to shoot nature, family, portrait, street and documentary photos. If I put it this way, I’m in love! This way we would have a seamless operation with our cameras and could enjoy the wonderful tactile feeling of a solidly built lens using manual focus. Pros
