I normally use a heat gun to remove other paint such as satin, gloss and eggshell. However, I don’t recommend using a heat gun to remove chalk paint. Does not corrode or damage the underlying surface, so ideal for restoration and remanufacture projects such as telephone boxes, engines, marine, automotive and mining industries If any paint remains the process can be repeated (this may be necessary for intricate areas or where there are layers of different paint types)
