About this deal

Since the majority of the population knows the story of The rainbow fish I will not touch on that story. In a cave behind the coral reef lives the wise octopus. Perhaps he can help you,“ said the starfish Rainbow Fish finds the wise octopus’s cave. At first, he can’t see in the gloom, but her bright eyes emerge. The octopus says that she has been waiting for Rainbow Fish after hearing his story from the waves. As a solution to his problem, she proposes that Rainbow Fish give one of his scales to each of the other fish. If he does this, the octopus thinks he will have learned how to be happy.

Rainbow Fish is playing hide and seek with his fish friends. When it was Rainbow Fish's turn to look for the hiding fish, he couldn't find anybody. They all had good hiding places and fooled Rainbow Fish. That's why when it was Rainbow Fish's turn to hide, he got angry when Little Blue Fish discovered him right away. Rainbow Fish was so annoyed he left in a huff. It took his friend Red Fin to explain to Rainbow Fish that Little Blue Fish was inexperienced and never got to win in the past, and that Rainbow Fish should congratulate him and be a good sport about the whole thing. So that's what he did, and they all became friends again and were happy. Besides the beautiful illustrations (we particularly like the special shiny scales), this book contains some important messages about friendship and sharing. By the end of the story Rainbow Fish has learnt that being kind and sharing his beautiful scales allows him to make friends. It makes both Rainbow Fish and the other fish happy to share.Have you ever owned an item that you didn’t want to share? What was it? Why didn’t you want to share it? Decorate your own Rainbow Fish image using collage (or other media). Can you find foil and glitter to make your picture sparkle?? (see Resources below) Far out in the sea lived a fish. No ordinary fish, however. He was the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean. His scales shimmered with all the colours of the rainbow. Can You Find The Way" maze where Rainbow Fish has to make it through to his mother at the other end.

THIS isn't sharing. This is: give up everything about you, dissect yourself into pieces, and give them away--because others are jealous. It is one of the most horrifying conformist and self-sacrificing books I've read and it is geared to children! My wife and I had previously discussed the way this kids book makes us feel uncomfortable. The moral of the story seems to be that if you do not give away whatever makes you special, you will never have any friends. Fantastic Underwater World" shows an illustration of the ocean bottom with its colorful plant life. Has a list of materials such as a drawing pad, watercolor paints, small sponge and crayons with directions to create your own illustration.

Can you find different materials that are shiny, like the Rainbow Fish’s scale? What makes them shine and reflective? Still excited, he told his friends about it. From then on nobody wanted any more to do with Rainbow Fish. They turned away when he swam past them The story includes lots of different types of punctuation. Can you find each type and explain why they have been used?Eventually the Rainbow fishes’ pride and unwillingness to share some of his shiny scales leaves him without friends and all alone. Finally the lonely fish seeks advice from the wise octopus, who tells him how to be a better friend. In the end, the rainbow fish experiences the joy of kindness and discovers how to build friendship. The book says that Rainbow Fish grew more and more delighted as he gave away his scales. Is this true in all cases? If not, give examples.

I love the sparkly scales of the Rainbow Fish. This story is all about sharing and how good it makes us feel to share. I love the idea, but the Rainbow fish has some sparkly scales and they grow from your body. They are part of skin and you can’t simply pull them out. So the idea of sharing rainbow scales is about sharing who we are or our gifts. Fish can’t literally pull off scales. I simply thought that part was weird. A chilling tale about a young fish who learns that no one will ever like him--until he gives up the thing that makes him unique and becomes just like everyone else. Why is everyone so obsessed with the bodily removal of the Rainbow Fish’s scales? What is this, some kind of ocean take on Saw ? The Rainbow Fish was developed from another book Pfister had previously illustrated, The Sleepy Owl. In an interview with Publishers Weekly, Pfister said, "Well, I had published some other books after The Sleepy Owl – there were some Christmas books and Penguin Pete – but Brigitte Sidjanski, founder of NordSud, had always liked my first book, and suggested I do another book similar to that. So I thought that if a new book was to have something in common with that book, the character should resemble an owl. But I really didn’t want to draw another bird. Then one day, I had a copy of The Sleepy Owl by my desk, and I looked closely at that character, and I realized I could create a fish character that would be quite similar to the owl. So the feathers became scales. And then I began thinking about the story, and I came up with the idea of a colorful fish." [3] Book series [ edit ]
