For those of you now find yourself above the level of ‘total beginner’, and want something a bit more fully featured to aid your progression, the Takamine GC1CE might just be the best beginner’s classical guitar for you out of all the instruments featured here. This superb quality electro acoustic classical guitar boasts a level of tone and build quality way above the basic beginner models. Bernie had completely forgotten he had this. He said, ‘Oh, I looked in one of my old storage spaces today and I found another four guitars’”: Up close and personal with some of late guitar hero Bernie Marsden’s rarest vintage instruments It is possible, as some have done, to jump straight from a beginner C40 right onto the CG192 (or a Cordoba C7 or equivalent) by skipping all the in-between line of guitars. It is a massive jump in tonal quality, playability, touch, durability – and the price, of course The Yamaha APX600 is the successor to the company’s top-selling APX500(one of the top selling acoustics ever). This is because a guitarist's hands are both `dominant' when playing guitar; a player who has learnt on a non-left-hand model will be able to play regardless of whether they're left or right handed. The Yamaha C-Series is a line of beginner guitars from Yamaha. They have been built with playability in mind so these guitars work the best with beginners. The Yamaha C40 and C40II are true classics among full-size classical guitars.

I have owned the Yamaha C40(C40II is a successor of this) for 10 years. And for the price, it has been amazing! Still sounds great, playability is solid and durability is something amazing! Teemu Suomala Owner of the Guitaristnextdoor.com and Yamaha C40. I don’t know about you but whenever I ask guitarists their favorite beginner acoustic guitar, nine times out of ten I hear the name “Yamaha.” Which is better? Both are similarly priced. Both are aimed at beginner players. Both use similar woods more or less. It’s easier to lean on the side of the Yamaha C40II for its excellent performance over the years. Its precision build and consistent quality are hard to ignore when you’re starting out. Even though the C1M has its legion of followers for its lighter feel and open sound, the scales tip ever so slightly in favor of the older model. From classical, flamenco and crossover, to acoustic-electric models and beyond, these are the best nylon-string guitars around right now

The 3-and-3 deluxe tuners have a classic look with a smooth turn. They stay in tune very well. Not holding tuning well is a common issue with lower-end guitars, but you shouldn’t have any tuning issues with the Yamaha C40II. Bridge At this price level the saddle/nut is usually plastic. The C3M uses bone, found in higher priced guitars. The Spanish classic fan bracing under the top wood is an advanced feature as well CG Series of hand crafted guitars – GC12C/GC12S, GC22C/GC22S, GC32C/GC32S, GC42C/GC42S, GC82C/GC82S Yes, it’s a full-size classical guitar with 18 frets and traditional string spacing thanks to the nut width. If you’re used to playing a ¾ scale then it might feel a bit awkward at first. But once you get used to it you shouldn’t have any problems. What is the difference between C40 and C40II? Here at Guitar World, we are experts in our field, with many years of playing and product testing between us. We live and breathe everything guitar related, and we draw on this knowledge and experience of using products in live, recording and rehearsal scenarios when selecting the products for our guides.

If this guitar is to have any downsides, then it must be the out-of-the-box setup. You might get it with slightly high action when you receive it. A little bit can be lowered by yourself, but too high an action will warrant for a professional setup. But still, the overall quality, playability, and tones make this one of the top beginner/budget acoustic-electrics on the market. Frankly, most serious classical players won’t touch them with a bargepole, but they’re fantastic for crossover artists, as well as players into jazz and Latin styles Classical vs flamenco guitar The GC12 is known for its bright sound. You expect the sound to mature with age as with guitars of this caliber. Guitars at this price range have a bone saddle, but the GC12 has one made of Urea. The word doesn’t sound too good to my ears but I’ve learned it is indeed a very good material for the job. (If it bothers you still, you can replace it with a bone saddle.) The choice of high-quality tone woods lends subtlety to the sound. The ebony fretboard has a good touch. Great tuners. This is certainly the next level of guitar for an intermediate guitarist. Why we love it…

Ibanez created the Artwood Series to be an ode to their rich tradition of acoustic guitars while adding the modern accoutrements needed by today's guitarist. Players of different types of music – classical, flamenco, pop etc. will undoubtedly look for different features when shopping for the best classical guitar. In fact, in this case, we’re using the term classical guitar to apply to all nylon-strung guitars. However, there is some crossover, as we will detail below. A high level of craftmanship and great attention paid to detail results in instruments of outstanding quality from Yamaha.
