About this deal

Tapping on the case reveals some panel resonances, which is not uncommon with moulded speaker enclosures, and this is most likely a contributing factor to the lower‑midrange sound coloration I heard when playing full‑range material through the TX310. I got the impression that the speaker had been voiced to give a good account of the low end and to deliver a crisp treble, but at the expense of some midrange clarity. Some low‑mid cut centred around 200Hz cleaned this up to a useful degree, especially in a vocal PA setting, as it helped tame some of that unwanted boxiness. There’s also a useful amount of mic gain if you plug a mic directly into the XLR input, which is always good to know for those ‘broken mixer’ emergencies or for basic announcement work, though there’s no opportunity to add EQ or effects if you work that way. The Alto Professional TX308 350 Watt Active Speaker brings clear sound to a variety of live music applications. It combines power and portability, offering the same huge output you'd expect from larger systems, all in a lightweight, easy to carry format. Whether used as a main speaker or stage monitor, you'll get deep, defined bass from a 8" low frequency driver, crisp, clean highs from a 1" compression driver, and wide, even coverage from a 90 H x 60 V directivity horn. The more premium level would be units like the QSC K series or Yamaha DXR series which again have ample volume for most applications, very good DSP contouring options, premium speakers and components, and great care and quality in the cabinet design and materials for both sound and durability. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. As is usual for this type of speaker, the TX310 is a ported, bi‑amplified two‑way system, in this case pairing its long‑excursion woofer with a 1.5‑inch voice coil alongside a one‑inch titanium compression driver tweeter, crossing over at 2.5kHz. The tweeter is loaded by a full‑width horn, producing a horizontal dispersion of 90 degrees and a vertical dispersion of 60 degrees.

The Alto is pretty much the low end pricing and is targeted for general use with a big market segment in mobile DJs and the Dance Mix crowd. For that reason they provide a fair amount of wattage for the money but very little in c apabilities to contour the sound of the speaker other than boosting the bass frequencies.

Enclosure: Injection-moulded polypropylene, multi-angle for main or monitor applications, metal grille, rubber I would've loved to have the multi-input mixer section that many powered speakers feature...it would allow this to be used as the main sound reinforcement for a very small gig (think small coffee shop, etc).

Indicadores: (2) LEDs de encendido (1 en el panel frontal, 1 en el panel posterior), LED recorte limitador I participate in a weekly worship service at a local nursing home. Our old Peavy amp quit working and I didn't think it would be worth looking into getting fixed. I asked Jonathan Appleton for his advice about using a powered mixer with our existing speakers. He understood that we couldn't spend any more of the church's money than we absolutely had to, and he recommended using a powered speaker with a good inexpensive mixer. He recommended this speaker and an appropriate mixer and we couldn't be more pleased with both the price and the performance of the speaker. We haven't been using it long, but we can definitely reach all the way throughout a medium sized dining room and probably a lot further. I can't imagine a better solution at any cost. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. The Alto TX 3 series starts with the TX-308, a compact powered PA speaker ideal for smaller sound requirements, portable setups and monitoring.Alto Professional offer an affordable range of PA Systems and accessories that cater to musicians that want great sound on a budget. Whether you’re a solo act, a duo or a group, Alto offer a range of different options to suit your performance needs and the size of the venue. Whilst in many cases, affordable means that you lose out on durability, Alto understand that a PA system needs to be able to withstand the rigours of setup and travel.

Conectores: (1) XLR/TRS 1/4” (6,35 mm) entrada balanceada (Línea / Micro), (1) Salida XLR (Link), (1) Entrada para cable IEC (red eléctrica)Side note: If I go with PA type speakers, I would keep them on the floor as wedges. If studio monitors, I would buy stands. That means your audience will hear all the important details - no matter where they're stood. The TX308 makes precision a priority. That's why the bi-amplified design has a built-in active crossover and EQ, making it easy to manage unruly frequencies. This ensures optimum sound quality, regardless of application. Despite the popularity of mini line‑array systems for small venues, there’s still a healthy market for the more conventional box‑style speaker. That’s an area Alto have much experience in, having produced a number of affordable point‑source speakers over the years that perform surprisingly well for their price. Their new TX range is designed in the US but manufactured ‘offshore’, and we’re informed that it is underpinned by some of the technology used in the company’s more costly TS3 series. The TX range goes from an 8‑inch model, via 10‑ and 12‑inch designs, up to a 15‑inch version. I chose the 10‑inch TX310 for this review, as it is well‑suited to smaller venues, is adequately loud with a reasonably wide frequency response, and is easily portable. There are roughly three pricing areas when it comes to these type of speakers. The pricing is really based on what market segment they're targeted at and the features and capabilities that appeal to those segments.
