Adverse events from historical clinical trial data are both infrequent and from small patient exposure.

Dosage: Adults, the elderly and children aged 16 years and over: Two capsules every four hours as required. Maximum 8 capsules (4 doses) in any 24 hour period. Do not take continuously for more than 5 days without medical advice. Hypertensive interactions occur between sympathomimetic amines such as phenylephrine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (see contraindications)..Warnings and precautions: Contains paracetamol. Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products or use of other cold and cough medicines, including cough suppressants and sympathomimetics (decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants), should be avoided. Medical advice should be sought before use in patients with occlusive vascular disease, glutathione depletion due to metabolic deficiencies, chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema. Use in caution in patients taking digoxin, cardiac glycosides and vasoconstrictor agents such as ergot alkaloids. Beechams Breathe Clear Hot Honey & Lemon Menthol Flavour powder for oral solution. (paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride). Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products should be avoided. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Do not take this medicine with any other products that contain paracetamol, as this can easily result in exceeding the maximum dose of paracetamol.

Indications: The relief of symptoms of influenza, feverishness, chills and colds including headache, sore throat pain, aches and pains, nasal congestion, sinusitis and its associated pain, and acute nasal catarrh. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine. Beechams max strength all in one hot drinks contain sodium (117mg per sachet). This should be taken into consideration if you are on a controlled-sodium diet. Adverse reactions identified during post-marketing use are listed below. The frequency of these reactions is unknown but likely to be rare. The following adverse events have been observed in clinical trials with phenylephrine and may therefore represent the most commonly occurring adverse events.Dosage: Adults and children aged 16 years and over: One powder to be taken every three to four hours as required. Do not exceed six powders in any period of 24 hours. Use with caution in elderly patients. Product should be discontinued if pain gets worse or lasts more than 10 days (or lasts more than 3 days for fever). Liver damage is possible in adults who have taken 10g or more of paracetamol. Ingestion of 5g or more of paracetamol may lead to liver damage if the patient has risk factors (see below). Plasma-protein binding is negligible at usual therapeutic concentrations but increases with increasing concentrations. Indications: Symptomatic relief of influenza, feverishness, chills and colds, including feverish colds. Relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, period pains, aches and pains, rheumatic pain and muscular aches and pains. Bronchospasm, hepatic dysfunction, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis and acute pancreatitis. Nervousness, irritability, restlessness, excitability, headache, dizziness, insomnia, increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, dysuria and urinary retention.
