About this deal

So far, we have 4 minifigures in the GOTG calendar, 3 of which have come from 76913 The Guardians’ Ship, which may or may not be a good thing, depending of course if you have the set or not. Here’s a look at the completed ship! It’s pretty good, and has space for one minifigure to pilot it, but overall, it feels like they could’ve squeezed it into 2 days instead of 3, wasting precious spots close toward the end of the Advent Calendar. This handmade Christmas movie themed advent calendar is lots of fun for teens who love Christmas movies. And who doesn’t? The biggest upside of this year’s calendar is the selection of mini-builds which (without spoiling the surprise) feature a wide range of winter festival themed scenes and stands. There is plenty to eat (such as the Popcorn Stand), games to play (such as the rainbow animal ride or shooting game), and festive decorations to make your winter scene come to life.

Overall, not a bad day, especially if you enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy movie references, even if the contents are a little plain, but I appreciate the Easter Eggs included!

I love what they’ve done with the wings, which can be fanned out at different angles, and just how sleek this ship looks. It’s pretty much perfect, and I’m so glad that we finally get a build worth getting this excited for. Things are starting to look up with the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar with Day 10’s Laser Drill Spaceship, a mining craft piloted (and stolen) by Yondu in GOTG Vol 2 to drill a hole into Ego the living planet.

On Day 2 of the GOTG Advent Calendar, we get some gifts for Star-Lord, a wrapped present and a new walkman as well! And that’s it for the Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar! To be honest, I’m mostly disappointed by the Calendar, mostly because of strings of forgettable days and builds, with items that were a stretch to connect to Christmas, the Guardians of the Galaxy or even the Holiday Special. With five Advent calendars to chose from there is so much variety. Any of the Advent calendars provided by LEGO should be a fun way to get yourself into the holiday spirit this season as you build some neat LEGO models. Hopefully this review has helped you make an informed decision about which Advent calendar (or two) you will build this year! At 18, my daughter is too old for those advent calendars, but still too young for the thousands of gin/wine/beer themed advents. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to help her celebrate the countdown to Christmas with her own advent calendar! So what are the best advent calendars for teens in 2023? Not bad from Day 10, and with so many cool and unique spaceship designs to draw from, I sure hope this won’t be the last micro-build we see! The Star Wars Advent Calendar ( see it at Walmart) is mostly spacecraft and droid builds from the movies. My favorite was a miniature AT-ST Walker, which the designers depicted in perfect minimalist fashion. I loved the Advanced TIE Fighter, which again captured the key design elements of the build in a very spare, suggestive manner. And in terms of Christmas-themed accessories, you cannot get cuter than R2-D2 in a Christmas sweater. Following 2021’s excellent Marvel/Avengers-themed Advent Calendar, we’re getting a Guardians of the Galaxy-theme Advent Calendar, featuring characters and settings from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

Hogwarts Express and Platform 9 3/4– This iconic location is well reconstructed at microscale, and is easily identified due to the signature red of the scarlet steam engine, The Hogwarts Express. I think it’s fun that this tiny model is included this year, given that a much larger version was released earlier this year as #76405 Hogwarts Express. I would love to see the two side by side! Unsurprisingly, Day 1 of the Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar begins with Star-Lord, leader of the Guardians. The special revolves around Mantis, Drax and the rest of the Ravagers crew on Knowhere trying to cheer Star-Lord (aka Peter Quill) up with some Christmas spirit and festivities. The minifigures and mini builds in the LEGO Marvel Studio's Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar 2022 are compatible with all other LEGO Marvel building toys, allowing kids to enjoy the fun Christmas presents all year round. This year, I’ll be counting down 4 Advent Calendars – Star Wars, Harry Potter, Friends and the GOTG one.

Christmas Tree and Gift– It is fun to see an new technique employed to create a Christmas Tree in an advent calendar set. Instead of using a ton of small plates or a SNOT assembly, a pair of 2×2 Round with 4 Petals (part 15469) in 37 Bright Green is used to create the branches. A simple 2×2 gift in 191 Flame Yellowish Orange Bright Light Orange is also included. The Milano– You cannot have a licensed Advent calendar without having some sort of vehicle and this one is no different. The original Guardians Of The Galaxy Milano spaceship was invevitable in this Advent calendar. Its vibrant blues and metalic colors make this spaceship immediately recognizable and stands out. Here’s a look at the 2022 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, which looks to incorporate characters and scenes from the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation Disney+ animated special. Give any Marvel fan aged 6 and over a festive treat with this LEGO Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar (76231) for kids 2022. The fun starts on December 1st and continues throughout the holidays.

On the inside of each flap door is a picture of its respective build, which also doubles as your instructions; there is no separate booklet to explain how to put these together. In theory, this means that the single picture must be self-evident enough to convey what is typically depicted in multiple steps. Whether you’re here for the first time, or have been following for years, I’ve really enjoyed reading every single comment, and for yet another successful year! I really hope Day 13 improves, as this has been a really hit and miss Advent Calendar, with more misses than hits! It’s also a nice homage to a LEGO GOTG set from 2017, 76080 Ayesha’s Revenge which featured the Laser Drill and Yondu.Behind each of the Advent calendar’s 24 doors is a daily Marvel gift for kids to discover throughout the December build-up to Christmas. The image doesn’t spoil ALL of the contents, but in addition to C-3PO and R2-D2 in ugly christmas sweaters, we also get a beach Darth Vader, Snow Trooper, Battle Droid and a Clone Commander, which looks suspiciously like the one from the UCS Republic Gunship. The designs are fairly simplistic, with only the general shape and colours used to clue you into what they actually are. On Day 14, we get a big orange ship, aka The Guardians’ Ship aka The Benatar. It’s not the best-looking ship, although it does capture the general look of the Guardians’ Ship with its shape and unmistakeable colour scheme.
