All MPs were covered by insurance as part of their job. Why had Bradford felt the need to take out an additional insurance policy, weeks before his death? It was a detail, a senior investigating officer on the case would later say he’d heard mentioned in the aftermath of Bradford’s death too, although it hadn’t been viewed as significant.

Shortly before Bradford died, he’d told two friends that if anything were to happen to him, they would find a letter in the drawer of his desk. After his murder, they’d went there, searched the drawers, and found nothing.Whilst the man they refer to Mr Robert McClenaghan has been open and honest about his past it was absolutely irresponsible of The News Letter to fail to clarify the whole truth in their extensive piece. The piece that affected me the most was her Letter To My Fourteen-Year-Old Self. The opening lines of "Kid, it's going to be okay" healed something inside of me that I didn't know was hurt. Her pieces in that entire section and the unapologetic hope she has in them, that things are going to get better and we will be happy, made me feel strangely excited for when I find that future for myself. There were two people who knew more than most about the last months of Bradford's life. Raymond Jordan was his election agent and his wife, Kay, had been Bradford's personal secretary. Lyra was about 7 years old when the 1998 Peace Accord was signed in Northern Ireland. The subsequent peace has not been total. There have been paramilitary factions, some connected with IRA breakaway groups, that have continued to engage in terrorism. One of the most infamous incidents was the bombing in August, 1998 in Omagh. It was the worst single bombing in Northern Ireland of the Troubles with 29 fatalities. One of the topics Lyra was exploring was looking at these dissident groups. However, it is with great disappointment and concern that, as a company, to be directly or indirectly linked to an “IRA bombers group” in an article that clearly misrepresents the organisation Paper Trail it is describing is severely damaging to our company’s reputation and that of myself, my staff, our clients and our other authors. It has also, in my opinion, put people in real danger.
