only added to his problems. Either it was possessed, or Paul completely lost his mind, or ‘somebody’ wanted Paul to believe he was losing his mind. so as she goes further to find out what has happened she brings in a detective to help her with her search, soon they discover that Denton Abagail has been murdered as well as Cynthia's Aunt BUT WHAT IS THEIR MOTIVE!! Eight months after his accident - after first being treated for the physical traumas - and head injury - Paul entered therapy with psychologist Anna White. It may be a cliché to say that this novel is impossible to put down, but for me that was true. I started reading No Time late one evening -- a mistake -- and I was damned if I was going to let my fatigue stop me from finishing. This meant brewing a mug of very strong coffee past midnight, just so I could finish Barclay’s haunting tale. I did not like or even empathize with any of the characters. I love children but 8-year-old Grace does nothing but whine about the fact that her mother walks her to school instead of letting her walk alone. She is a pip. It is constant through the book and terribly annoying. I didn't like the young or the grown up Cynthia who has a personality that alternates from a nutcase to a zombie. Who would date this woman, marry her, want to father kids with her? Well, obviously Terry who is so boring who would want him anyway? Mr. Perfect has his hands full with these two females. It is never good when you kind of what somebody bad to get hold of the whole lot of them and shake them up some.

This song was written by an outside writer (Peter Wolf); however, it is common practice of hit-making artists who are required to continue with a record label. Heart, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and all of the biggest recording artists in the world use outside writers and previously published material. Her cheeks went red, as though she were too embarassed to complete the sentence. "What I'm trying to say is, you've never seen anyone get a message from the beyond." Paul was not minding his business and caught his colleague tryna dump two bodies so he got his head bashed in. 8 months later, he's trying to recover and decides to confront the monster. But when he starts hearing a noise downstairs (see what I did there) he wonders if he's going cray cray. OK, normally I avoid anything the least bit scary...anything with a paranormal vibe to it. But this is Linwood Barclay! I can’t just pass up one of his books! So, turning on all the lights, with my hubby (and brave puppy) by my side to protect me...I dove in!🙈 Gabriella was aware of some of her husband’s infidelity- but she never knew he was juggling both Jill and Catherine simultaneously. I loved this title, which sets the tone for the book by conjuring up that hair raising feeling you get when you think you hear a strange noise in your house in the middle of the night. Then Barclay builds on that uneasy mindset without preamble.

Were they murdered? Kidnapped? Did they leave and abandon their daughter? It's three decades later and no one has any idea. But Cynthia is permanently scarred by what happened and she's living with the damage, which is affecting her marriage and her 8-year-old daughter, who is overprotected by Cynthia.PDF / EPUB File Name: No_Time_for_Goodbye_-_Linwood_Barclay.pdf, No_Time_for_Goodbye_-_Linwood_Barclay.epub The women that his friend killed were made to type out an apology to the killer. Those apologies are now being typed on his typewriter with no one around. Is this the actual typewriter that the killer owned? This book was just okay. It's a thriller. Cynthia's 14 when her mom, dad, and older brother disappear one night. Their cars are missing. Their beds aren't slept in. There's no trace of them.

To give credit where credit is due the central hook or plot twist which drives this story is fairly ingenious, unfortunately the narrative around it is doled out piecemeal and at times excruciatingly slow, drip by drip as if from an eye-dropper. I also found Terry and Cynthia unrealistic - for instance Cynthia, an understandably over-protective mother, abandons her daughter without a second thought in the middle of a crowded shopping mall to chase a man who looks like her long lost brother. When Terry follows her lead, she blows up at him for leaving their daughter alone in the Food Court. The book is full of such incongruities concerning our protagonists. Because of this I found it difficult to work up any empathy for these two and at times found them downright aggravating. Ok, about the story itself. The plot is told mostly through three points of view: Paul's, Anna's (the psychiatrist), and Charlotte's (Paul's current wife). Also sprinkled throughout the story we learn about Paul's ex-wife, her new husband, Paul's son, Anna's father, and Kenneth and his family. Everything pretty much branches off from these particular head points, and there are side plots galore. Maybe a few people will find it unnecessarily confusing, but I thought it was tastefully done and added to the intrigue. Which side plots would turn out to be connected to the main? Which were red herrings? Which were unrelated but still vital to the story's characterization? This was all present and kept me, a seasoned mystery fanatic, busy, preoccupied, and flustered in the best way possible. No Time for Goodbye begins when 14-year-old, Cynthia, wakes up after a night of partying with her boyfriend, feeling hungover and worried about the trouble she is going to be in with her parents after her dad found her extremely intoxicated and with a much too old boy the previous evening. However, when she goes searching for parents and then her brother, they are nowhere to be found. The typewriter part of the story felt like a puzzle solver for me. I thought I saw through the plot-device to the ending of the novel once that underwood typewriter was introduced...No Time for Goodbye is a masterful blend of suspense and emotional depth that kept me hooked until the very end." While I always enjoy a Linwood Barclay book, I felt my believability radar was going off just a little. I had some of it figured out fairly early but there were still some great surprises all the way to the end! Terry is determined to find answers for his heartbroken wife and starts his own investigation after Cynthia leaves with Grace following an evening of arguing. The countless twists and turns take Terry all over the map as he is led to one piece of the puzzle after another, until, finally, they all come together, to form the whole picture perfect puzzle. When Cynthia Bigge wakes up on a Saturday morning to find her Mother Patricia & father Clayton & brother Todd gone she panics after a wild night with boyfriend Vince Fleming she wonders what the hell is going on?
