About this deal

The prints that the Sovol SV01 produced were smooth and clean and everything you’d like in a print. After running ABL for leveling the printer, it stays consistent and it’s not hard to get perfect first layers. But it’s worth mentioning that if you reboot the machine, or move it, you will need to re-level the printer. This is caused by the movement of the Z-axis motors. 32-bit Creality V4.2.2 board

Allows you turn off the SV01 while printing, and resume your print from the last layer anytime later. Auto-leveling SV03 will make adjustments to ensure the bed and nozzle are at an optimum distance throughout the printing, which improves bed adhesion and print quality. To build Marlin 2.0 you'll need Arduino IDE 1.8.8 or newer or PlatformIO. Detailed build and install instructions are posted at:

Action Commands. RECOMMENDED. Install Ocotprint plugins "Action Commands", "Action Command Notification Support" and "Action Command Prompt Support". This will allow you to start, pauze and stop queued prints in Octoprint from your LCD. To make the menu item work that shutdowns the OctoPi, go to the "Action Commands" plugin configuration and add the following entry: I started my testing with the usual 3D Benchy. But this is the model included on the SD card sliced by Sovol. While it’s not the best benchy out there, the print looks good and has pretty respectable results out of the box. Calibration Cubes Sovol had been on my radar for a little bit with their SV01 3D Printer. I liked some of the unique features they were offering such as a rectangular build volume. I happened to enter one of their contests and won one of the printers! I’ve been using it for a little bit and wanted to share my experience, because I have to say… it’s been one of the better printers I’ve used in 2019! Join me in my Sovol SV01 3D printer review. Still not getting a test print (XTZ cube) to stay fixed to the print bed - so failed prints. I have levelled the bed multiple times. I have even drag on a piece of paper all over the print bed, which is glass with a textured surface - looks very much like Anycubic Ultrabase. Some people has the problem to load the filament, because the structure of the direct drive extruder is different from bowden 3d printer. Please make sure you press this exrtuder clip out when you load the filament and pre-heat the nozzle to 180°.videoPosterUrl": "//sovol3d.com/cdn/shop/files/Sovol_SV06_Best_Budget_3D_Printer_Sovol_3D_Printer_3.jpg?v=1697454898","mainVideoEmbed": { Upgrade Sovol SV03 Firmware (Laser Engraving) Upgrade Sovol SV02 Firmware (Laser Engraving) Z Stop Spacer STL for Sovol Resin Flexible Plate Anycubic Mono 2.6mm Anycubic Mono SE Anycubic Photon S videoPosterUrl": "//sovol3d.com/cdn/shop/files/Sovol_SV06_Plus_Fully_Open_Source_3D_Printer_Sovol_3D_Printer_2.jpg?v=1697459027","mainVideoEmbed": { Ensures a stable printing process. The models adhere incredibly well to the flexible build plate. By slightly bending the plate, the models can be easily removed. Marlin is constantly improving thanks to a huge number of contributors from all over the world bringing their specialties and talents. Huge thanks are due to all the contributors who regularly patch up bugs, help direct traffic, and basically keep Marlin from falling apart. Marlin's continued existence would not be possible without them. LicenseSovol might have chosen this print surface to keep costs lower, but I can’t say I am a fan. Some filaments leave a mark on the print surface (especially silk filaments) and make it look bad. Adhesion is good, removing prints is easy, but the surface won’t look great after a few uses. I also wanted to test the M600 filament change feature, so I printed this NASA plate from Printables. The filament change worked out well, but during printing, I also had a power failure. This triggered the resume printing feature and I noticed that the layer where the power failed was printed again which made the top layers look a bit bad. There’s also the issue of a custom heat break used by Sovol which is not easily upgradable to a bi-metal heat break. This is an issue for the Sovol SV04, and I think it’s the same for the SV01 Pro. But I can’t confirm this without disassembling the hotend, which is currently not possible. The fan speed can be adjusted from 0 to 255 to meet the needs of different materials to ensure the best print quality. While the Sovol SV01 Pro comes with a magnetic flexible print surface, it’s not the same as the one found on the SV04. This one is a simple magnet with a printing surface on top, similar to what you would get with an old Ender 3. It doesn’t have the metallic “core” to make the print surface stiffer as the SV04 does. Another test print is this Phil-A-Ment model I usually print to test the cooling performance of the machine. This time, please take the part cooling results with a grain of salt, because I used my custom fan duct and not the original one which changes the results.M73 progress. RECOMMENDED. Install the Octoprint Plugin "M73 Progress Plugin". This will display print progress on your LCD when printing from OctoPrint.
