About this deal

Of the various kinds of headphones available in the AKG line of products, one that is not only consumer-friendly but also happens to deliver really outstanding sound quality is the AKG K361 headphone. If this does impress you then you can surely be further impressed by the fact that the headphone's soundstage is also pretty good. The oval ear design is pretty much a reasonable addition from AKG and surely makes up for a noise-canceling attribute, even though that can be said to be at about a really low level as the ear pads are only capable of sealing the ear, and that way you don't get to hear surrounding noise especially when it is low.

A big plus is the foldable construction which allows to transport the headphones effordlessly in the protective bag which comes with them. There’s a useful array of built-in touch controls on the side of the left ear cup - double tap to start and stop playback of whatever you’re listening to, swipe up and down to adjust volume and forward and back to skip between tracks. The impedance on these is only 38 ohms, but unusually for a low-impedance design they seem to respond better when driven quite hard. If you're wondering what comes in the box, then you can expect to find the headphones as well as some other accessories including 2 Straight cables: 3.

It’s a minor disappointment but hardly a deal-breaker – and of little consequence if you’re mainly plugging them in anyway. This usually makes Bluetooth cans unsuitable for monitoring when programming and recording in real-time with a DAW, and in our tests the K361-BT proved to be no exception, with a substantial delay between playing a note on our (wired) MIDI keyboard and the sound appearing in the cans.Being untethered by a cable makes it easy to stand up and cross the room to fetch something without having to divest yourself of your cans first. We turn our attention to Prince’s When Doves Cry and notice the initial “yeah” vocal-loop as it trails from your left ear, behind your skull, and off via your right temple just before the funk riff kicks in.

I needed headphones with low impedence that I could use to listen to music on my phone aswell as in the studio to record/mix a little with. For iPhone users, you might need to get some extra bit of cable to help connect while some android is simply just not compatible. The headphone has some pretty impressive features and while it misses out on a number of things, it does well in some regard. The K361-BT model is a Bluetooth-equipped version of AKG’s standard, cabled K361 closed-back studio headphone . I did find it overly soft lush, soft think HD650 paired with a cheap tube amp like the dark voice type of sound. The transmission range seems decent - whilst listening, we left the computer playing and wandered through the next room into the hallway and up some stairs with no dropouts or degradation whatsoever. Please give us the reason for your assessment in the following text box and – if possible – your e-mail address for further questions. I have heard the Atticus with camp wood and that had more impact and solidity in the bass, it wasn't quite Verum 1 or LCD-4 type solidity but much better than the Cherry I had. With a lightweight, understated design, and squishy ear pads that make these a comfy bet for long listening sessions, everything is matt black with only the slightest light grey-coloured accent present in the AKG logo on the sides.

It’s not often we don’t equate good sound with a good review, but there are significant design flaws here that cannot be overlooked. We’re reviewing the AKG K371-BT primarily as a headphone proposition for the hi-fi enthusiast and music-lover, rather than a dedicated tool for professional recording and mixing. Earlier when I mentioned that the lack of buttons was probably a move to reduce pressure on the headphones, the reference point for that is the lightweight of the AKG 361.The AKG K361 doesn't have any buttons or controls on it and it is probably something they thought of to reduce pressure on the headphone or just for an adorable design. and 3m interchangeable cables connect to the underside of the left ear cup with a secure, twist-lock fitting. Due to the oval shape of the phones, the headphones are very comfortable to wear during long hours of recording and mixing.
