About this deal

Mikazuki didn’t hesitate, hands high in front of her, her fists wrapped in tape as she bellowed the makeshift target in front of her.

The Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty | Waterstones The Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty | Waterstones

Golden Empire chronicles the rise of a conglomerate empire from the early 90’s through the new millenium.Enter Gojo Satoru, the only person her clan doesn’t want her to marry and the only man she is willing to tie herself to for the rest of her life. I am fairly new to this genre and highly recommend this trilogy if you are looking to dip your toe into the fantasy genre, or if you are a seasoned fantasy reader but haven’t read these books yet.

Empire of Gold (TV Series 2013) - IMDb

A woman who uses her looks to garner insider information, sets up a real estate consulting firm to sell what she knows. The sorceress cursed under her breath, pulling out the last dagger and looking right at the Window, her golden eyes glowing in the sunlight, the power crackling just beneath the surface, dormant yet alert. But nobody ever asks those 'sacrifices' if they're willing - they get no say in whether or not their kids die for some supposed greater good. Both the school and the Kinzoku estate were located in Hokkaido, meaning that the matriarch didn’t need to do any excessive travelling between the two. In the many years he had been working as a Window for the Magistrate, he had never seen something like this. To vanquish them, he must face some ugly truths about his history and put himself at the mercy of those he once considered enemies.

Empire of Gold - Wikipedia

In the three years he’d been attending Jujutsu High, the two sorcerers had rarely spoken or interacted with one another, but they were still classmates, and despite the rules that kept them apart most of the time, they shared the same classes and trained in the same areas. Keisuke had been a good man and an even better sorcerer, seeing his body like this made Ijichi’s insides churn. Ibn Battuta was a young man who had been born into a family of Islamic scholars in Tangiers, North Africa. But even as she embraces her heritage and the power it holds, she knows she’s been trapped in a gilded cage, watched by a king who rules from the throne that once belonged to her family and one misstep will doom her tribe. He also brought dozens of camels each carrying around 136 kg of gold, which he gave away on his travels.I’ve always thought Dara was the most interesting of the three main characters, in part because we didn’t really get his perspective for quite a while. This drama was a weekly dose set to satisfy my hunger for sharp screenwriting, cliché-free storyline, intense events, dazzling characterization and top-notch acting. Having narrowly escaped their murderous families and Daevabad’s deadly politics, Nahri and Ali, now safe in Cairo, face difficult choices of their own.
