Overall I’d say you can’t go wrong with either but this latest repress sounds fantastic, go grab it! Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Rumours is the kind of album that transcends its origins and reputation, entering the realm of legend - it's an album that simply exists outside of criticism and outside of its time, even if it thoroughly captures its era. Although troubled with tension and setbacks the second time round combination of Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John and Christine Mcvie, together with the production talents of Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut had created the band's ultimate masterpiece.

His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm. I have to agree with MollieBrower, in fact used that review to kick me over the edge on giving it a shot. Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung.I'm assuming this is a bad pressing but it sad such lack of quality would happen on such an iconic album. Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. Never understood what the fuzz was all about with this album but through this mastering I totally get it. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene.
