I did find a relatively low carb recipe for an onion gravy here works out about 5gm of carbs per serving gluten free also. You can definitely taste the difference the butter makes, I might try some food colouring to darken it next time instead of the soy. Remember there will still be juices that come out of the meat and the other liquids will thin out as they heat, so better to no add too much additional liquid aside from the ¼. Sometimes you finish cooking a stew, casserole or other gravy-based dish like a pie filling, and while you're happy with the flavour, it's still too runny.

I cooked this exactly to recipe and it was excellent, but it did come out much lighter in colour than the pictures, Like Gigi, I then added a little soy sauce to darken it and that changed the flavour a bit, but not in a bad way. If you only use chicken cube or powder, the gravy flavour will lose a touch of seasoning and will be a pale brown colour. It would also mean that the meat and veggies often got cold while I stirred like mad to make a gravy from the pan juices, but not any more!
