It has the same innovative cooking system found in more expensive models, and offers a wide variety of functions such as smoking, roasting, searing, braising, and even baking. One of the drawbacks: you have to remove the grates to clean the ash pan through the bottom damper using a steel brush, which is included.Some kamado manufacturers suggest that you do this, but others, like Kamado Joe, say it’s not necessary. If you do have a standalone, don’t put it on wood, plastic, or anything that will become damaged with heat.
