The historical group known as Illuminati was founded by German philosopher Adam Weishaupt and four other members in Inglostady, Bavaria on May 1st, 1776. The Illuminati is a purported secret society consisting of world governments, corporations and celebrities that play an important role in global affairs. Gaetz may be doing the same thing to deflect from some serious questions of what he’s doing with a child starting at the age of 12. On August 11th, 2017, Nigerian Facebook [3] page Starvic Empire Media made the earliest found repost of the third image, with the post gaining over 540 likes, 1,200 comments and 870 shares in five years.
Prior to January 15th, 2019, an unknown user created the earliest found edit of the image, recaptioning it "My child will type the N-word. On January 7th, 2012, Redditor Norkal submitted a screen capture from a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode containing an Eye of Providence to the /r/mylittlepony [9] subreddit (shown below), remarking that the Illuminati had made it into the animated television show. On September 9th, 2017, Facebook [5] page Thony Kobo Oije reposted the image, with the post gaining over 480 reactions and 680 shares in five years. Through late 2020 and early 2021, the format achieved moderate virality on iFunny, with several high-engagement versions being posted during that period.On February 18th, 2020, iFunny [9] user PooChomper posted a Benis meme that gained 13 smiles and 36 replies in two years (shown below, center). A symbol that is often associated with the Illuminati online is the Eye of Providence, [8] which consists of an eye enclosed within a triangle.
The format started climbing to virality in late October 2021, after iFunny [12] user GoFvckYourself posted a meme on October 29th in which Jesus advised violent resistance when approached by a traffic officer. While I can't pull up any sources for the meme's first appearance, I know that this meme was originally a facebook meme. However, as a live broadcast it is definitely not immune to gaffes, and not just when it comes to getting ahead of the autocue.Due to its long history in American mythology, conspiracy theories regarding the Illuminati are prevalent online and are often mocked by those who are skeptical of the organization’s existence. QRposting refers to a practice of editing QR codes containing links to pirate copies of software, video games and other media into memes. In the macros, Jesus said that his child would type "amen" in the comments, with the Devil responding that his child would do no such thing. The earliest found reposts of the first and the second images were made on February 27th, 2017, and March 25th, 2017, on Facebook. For example, on March 23rd, 2019, Redditor [8] Paxoxujy reposted one version to the /r/4PanelCringe subreddit (shown below, left). On November 2nd, 2019, the same Twitter [8] user posted a similar message translated into Amharic, along with 4 black-and-white images featuring occult symbols (shown below).
Prior to this episode, both Beyonce and her husband rapper Jay-Z had been speculated of being involved with the Illuminati on several occasions. This is sort of surprising because this sort of text can often be so glitchy that it makes the page look broken. Following the viral spread of the booby trap post, starting in mid-December 2021, the format achieved viral status on Twitter.
