He pulled a silver watch from his pocket as if he had somewhere of great importance to be in the middle of the night. Once the original concept for “Seven Faceless Saints” established, how did you build a plot around it?

He didn’t look at Damian as he spoke but pulled away from the bed, a frown settling between his untamed brows. It feels a bit like dustweed—kills swiftly once it enters the circulatory system but, when taken undissolved in water, is liable to cause choking. They had their own city watchmen, and the people who weren’t part of a guild lived rather poor lives in comparison. And of course, there’s something so inexplicably addicting about the tension that arises when two characters are supposed to hate one another but can’t help feeling that flicker of attraction.
