I also own a beat-up 1990 UK pressing and, side by side, this has a *slightly* cleaner and brighter sound but most importantly, all the bass is intact. I do like how (except for the new parental advisory mark), the front and back of the cover looks exactly like the OG cover.It also helped to shift the power to the West Coast from the East Coast, which had enjoyed a period of prominence in hip hop for most of the 1980s. A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. Did not came with the "Respect The Classics" hype sticker tho, but the barcode, the matrix and the album label correspond to this version because it is the one that includes the Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) logo. Over the last few months he has disarmed packed rooms of rowdy concert goers, leaving them silent as they hold fast to every syllable sung. Not really sure how that happened at the factory but whatever, gave it a quick clean and it was fine.
