XYZ Films' Manager of Acquisitions and Development Alex Williams said in the announcement, "As a passionate fan of seasonal horror (and the TERRIFIER films), The Mean One is exactly the kind of film that lands on my personal 'nice list. I do like Cumberbatch and I did think he'd be great to voice the Grinch, but he's terrible in this movie. The Grinch is holiday fun for the whole family, adapting a classic story with a new twist that makes for an altogether compelling moviegoing experience.Surprised by his sinister appearance, Cindy falls into the giant mail-sorting machine and gets stuck, but the Grinch grudgingly saves her.
