About this deal

Thorogood's idea for the story might have been a tad innovative, but the💤 portrayal, left much nonsense in its attempts at frivolous gibberish. Every evening, come rain or shine, she'd take off her clothes, wrap the cape around herself, and step out of her house feeling a delicious frisson of naughtiness. She'd tell anyone who asked, and many did, that it kept her warm in winter, served as a picnic blanket in the summer, and she could pull it over her head if ever she was caught in a spring shower. It’s a luxurious spot appreciated by tourists and residents alike for its location on a lovely stretch of the Thames, its Georgian and Victorian architecture, gardens, and parks. Bond is joined by Jo Martin (Doctor Who, Back to Life) as empty-nester Suzie Harris who walks dogs for a living, Cara Horgan (The Sandman, Traitors) as the unassuming vicar’s wife Becks Starling, and Natalie Dew (Sandylands, The Capture) as DS Tanika Malik, who has stepped into a new role in Marlow’s police department.

When she stumbles upon her neighbor's murder police don't listen to her cause, murder don't happen in Marlow, so she must try to solve it herself. Judith, Becks and Suzie - The Marlow Murder Club, is a force to be reckoned with and loads of fun to be around! Her father is elderly and he and her brothers expect her to be the one to take care of him, including doing all of the repairs on his house. The main cast members have been confirmed, with Samantha Bond (Downton Abbey, Home Fires)taking the lead as Judith Potts – photographed with Robert Thorogood in our main photo, above.

They line up a list of probable suspects and leave no stone unturned in exploring every possible lead, often leading to risky situations. It consists of her routine of setting crosswords for the The Times newspaper, swimming nude in the Thames, drinking, lots of drinking, and riding her bike in town where everyone seems to know her, to her constant surprise. When the police are reluctant to believe her, Judith forms an unlikely friendship with local dog-walker Suzie and unfulfilled vicar’s wife Becks, as they start an investigation of their own.And the final one in the trio is Becks, she’s the wife of the vicar who always says and does the right thing. Becks notices that a painting isn’t straight, and Judith realises it’s the only one in the room without a frame. Robert Thorogood said: “After over a decade of working on Death in Paradise, I’m thrilled to be creating a brand-new murder mystery series for TV. She lives alone in a faded mansion in Marlow, sets crosswords for The Times, and there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink.

These 3 hoots are funny and unafraid when their amateur sleuthing make several connections, but the body count continues to climb. Emma Ayech, channel director for Drama, added: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for Drama, as we start commissioning UKTV Originals for the channel. MASTERPIECE audiences will recognize the actor from her roles as Lady Rosamund in Downton Abbey and as Frances Barden in Home Fires. As Potts uncovers a series of clues—and sidesteps red herrings—she comes to rely on the help of two other local women; the respective strengths of all three might just possibly bring a killer to justice. To assist with official police investigation, headed by Tanika, They must suspect witnesses, and face down real danger as they work against th.The lawyer they think is mixed up in everything is a sexist scuzzball that harasses Becks when she goes to his office. This was written by the guy who brought the world Death In Paradise which I have enjoyed so I'm not surprised I enjoyed this. The writing is delightful, Marlow is a sleepy little town where you wouldn’t expect to see any criminal activity let alone three murders! We follow the exploits of three ladies: Judith who is 77 and who creates crossword puzzles for a living and who loves to go swimming naked in the Thames; then we have Suzie, a local dog walker; and finally Becks who is the wife of the local vicar.

Robert Thorgoodsaid: “ After over a decade of working onDeath in Paradise, I’m thrilled to be creating a brand-new murder mystery series for TV.When the police do a lousy investigation, Judith takes matters into her own hands and investigates her neighbor's property herself and finds his body. The mystery isn't original, but this is more about the characters/personalities and how they set out to solve the crimes. year old Judith is living her best life in an inherited mansion, has a job she loves, and drinks like a fish.
