About this deal

The DNA angle is clever too and keeps you on your toes trying to figure out what it all means and how it aligns.

Story kept me turning pages as I, too, wanted to know ‘Wilde’s background was he left as a baby or was he abandoned short before he was found when he was six years old.

Panther is missing and the rest think he or she killed Henry, a potential target they decided not to pursue. The characterisation is excellent, with a few deft strokes the author seems to be able to paint a personality picture. Myron Bolitar, a sports agent and occasional investigator, is summoned by Clip Arnstein, the owner of the New Jersey Dragons, following the mysterious disappearance of star player Greg Downing.

It could become a little confusing – given the layers of the plot and the fact we seem to have ‘good’ and ‘bad’ vigilantes but kept guessing if they’re one and the same or a rogue element… or something else entirely. Another interesting yarn about Wilde, which helps fill more of his background story and delivers an emotionally tense finale. With assistance from his foster sister Rola, his late best friend David’s mother and celebrity defense attorney Hester Crimstein, David’s widow Laila with whom he is in a relationship, Laila’s son Matthew and Matthew’s girlfriend Sutton, Wilde tries to connect the dots and figure out how it all adds up as the body count continues to multiply. Girls Like Us is the best of psychological suspense: nuanced, expertly fast-paced, and full of surprises you truly don't see coming. As the dreadful consequences of distant events collide in the present, three people leading lives they never wanted—with closely guarded secrets that no one could ever suspect—will come to realize that the past never truly fades away. Instead it’s the match to a more-distant relative (Peter) that becomes the focus of this story – or rather Peter’s disappearance. And how does it all connect to the man once known as The Stranger, a treacherous fugitive with a growing following whose mission and methods have only turned more dangerous with time? As usual Coben’s writing makes reading effortless and the pacing of this novel will keep (even) someone with a goldfish-like attention span engaged. He is sharp and perceptive just like his uncle, and will go to great lengths to help those he cares about.

Want to know how are Wilde and Peter are related in the Match (one of my super-smart commenters figured it out! It decides to take no action but one of its members provides information to a external party who goes on a killing spree. Desperate to save her marriage, and quite possibly her husband’s life, Suzze turns to Myron Bolitar for help. On the eighth anniversary of her death, two unidentified bodies are discovered at the lake, several years after their deaths. All he knows is that, as a young child, he was found living a feral existence in the Ramapo mountains of New Jersey.Mickey and his friends aren’t afraid to put their lives in the way of danger, if it means getting the answers they are looking for. Then one by one these doxxers start to die, and it soon becomes clear that a serial killer is targeting this secret community - and that his next victim might be Wilde himself .
