I'm not sure how it is for people who have access to patreon content but there's a bunch of extra scenes (including spicy ones hehe) that really made a difference for me. So, it was obvious why Lingrint pulled Timothée into the back room before closing, why he stuck his hands down Timothée’s pants and grinned at him like they had a secret. All in All, I would definitely recommend this book to people who love magical worlds and creative magic systems. The parts of the story where the lore was delved into in depth were some of my favorites, and there are elements of the story that have me buzzing with theories and questions.

The Den is the Evening Star’s common room, a place where all the change-makers of the Academy can rest…though more often than not, they are found practicing their magic. Interesting and unique concept and in a first look (just finished the book) it was one of my favorite aspects of the book! He found himself captivated by the swirling cloud, how his own star, caged deep within his heart, seemed to hum when he looked at it. Khalid followed his gaze, stared at the Dark Star boy, all nonchalant posture and detached bemusement. I'm going to give the next book a go, because I'm intrigued about certain aspects and would like to know what happens to each of the Greywick children.

First, I felt immediate dislike, but then when he referred to Rhaemyria as the "sun b*tch", I have to admit I may have fallen in love with him just a little bit. It gives us an intimate lens into their lives, and makes the revelations all the more propulsive and devastating. The illustrations were very beautiful, and it’s a refreshing concept to do some illustration of an adult novel. He stood staring rather dumbly into space, but as soon as he caught her eye, his expression took on that smirking mask.

The authors used a variety of tropes in the book which provides a little something for any reader but also makes certain things somewhat predictable. This is partially responsible for the intense devotion many still have for The Secret History, almost 30 years later. At this point, her fear was almost like a little friend that sat with her, lovingly warning her away from being too happy, too relaxed, with little reminders that all of it could be taken away in a moment.

It is reminiscent of the late 2000s/early 2010s YA books and includes drawings of characters and scenes like a children’s picture book – something I believe should be more common in YA and NA literature. I, Lady Carmilla Vladimirovna, heir to the fallen empire of Kirrintsova, and also a ward of Prince Darius Störmberg, have been looking all over for you. It really felt like an introduction to me, not like a full first book and maybe it would've been better to "cut" later.
