Unlike most twenty-year-olds, all she really wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first, she must get a college degree at her parents’ insistence. Catering to the seasonal parasites, this invasive species that uses us locals up, sucks us dry, and leaves their garbage behind. Society is telling you to only do what everyone else is doing and what everyone else expects from you without trying to be different. I accidentally read the second book (about the twin brother and his ex) before this one and liked it better - but not very much.

Being a good girl is self-explanatory, but it is when it becomes a syndrome that it becomes a problem. Even the “villain” of the group had more to her than met the eye and I appreciated, mostly, the way that ended up playing out.Mac is a young woman who has grown up with every privilege she could have asked for, but is confined by what is expected of her. They struggle with expressing their feelings or asserting themselves because of the overwhelming fear of criticism and judgment. I knew going in there was a cheating aspect to the story from what I had seen on social media from the author and some early reviews I read. The rich people are all full of themselves, take everything for granted, are "clones" (and therefor not human, very problematic). There is a HEA of course – this is a romance after all but the ending felt very abrupt and I would have really liked more.

We’re doing better now- 3 of the 4 of us have had Covid over this last few months- only my daughter didn’t (knock on wood) and she didn’t even get vaccinated! I read in other reviews that people didn't like the cheating trope - it was actually the first time ever that a main character was cheating in a young adult novel I've read.We might’ve indulged in a string of hookups earlier this summer, but making that a regular thing with one of my best friends starts to resemble a relationship, and that’s not where I’m trying to go. She reaches into her bra and lifts each breast so they sit higher and fuller in her black Joe’s Beachfront Bar tank top. And I was curious how this would work in a romance novel, and I think this worked as well as I thought.

Because nothing sounds less appealing to me than sitting in the dark listening to the shrieks of a century-old dead child. Remind me why we do this,” I say to Steph as I rack up a line of Jack and Cokes for her at the waitress stand. Bartender Cooper Hartley gets fired after he steps in to save a coworker from being sexually harassed by rich boy Preston Kincaid. The first step may be to consider self-knowledge, truthfulness, and other building blocks on the road to personal growth. Share book reviews and ratings with Deanna (A Novel Glimpse), and even join a book club on Goodreads.

It makes her believe that going beyond the boundaries set by society will have her labeled as something dirty or untamed, and no woman wants that. Unlike most twenty-year-olds, all she really wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first she must get a college degree at her parents' insistence. One of the characteristics being drilled into the heads of good girls is that they have to stay quiet and not stand out, always do as they’re told, and not question any of the norms. Mac’s growing self-confidence is cheer-worthy, while Cooper’s sensitivity thanks to a difficult family life will win readers over.
