Although " My Life as a Teenage Robot" premiered in the United States in 2003, the entirety of season one was produced the previous year, in 2002. The series also began airing in Australia and the United Kingdom in October 2002 and November 2002, respectively.

Since 2021, the complete series is available for streaming on Paramount+, including the first season. Also, as seen on the pre-production storyboard, the original title for this TV special was going to be "Prime Time" and was then officially changed to better fit the tone of the story. The famous Robby the Robot from movies and shows like Forbidden Planet makes a cameo when Jenny is in the scrapyard. Most of the first season aired in the United States in late 2003, with the last few episodes being delayed to early 2004, ending on February 27 with "The Wonderful World of Wizzly" and "Call Hating", a full year after their worldwide premiere in the United Kingdom. By this time, season 2 was already in production.It premiered worldwide in Australia on October 25, 2002 with the episodes " It Came From Next Door" and " Pest Control". The US premiere was on August 1, 2003 with the episodes " It Came From Next Door" and " Pest Control". As one can see from the chart pictured, there is a relatively short gap between production of the episodes and their worldwide premieres in the countries of Australia and the UK, with most episodes' premieres in those countries matching their production year, 2002.
