The wisdom in this book has been taught before (nothing new under the sun) but put across in a beautiful and simple way. However, having this as a story just irritated me as I wanted to finish it but wasn’t invested in the story at ALL. How each of us perceives the topic will vary, however I felt it was a good analogy of life beyond the mass marketed version we're sold.

I seem to be blessed with a vivid imagination and I'm able to create new stories out of the slightest inspiration. The book cd hv bn redeemed if the writing hd bn imaginative, whimsical, poetic, or just good, but it can be described as mediocre, at best. I love everything about the Internet, and in my own small way was pleased to be part of the disrupters who helped to change the world with this digital revolution. The old man and his grandson travel through areas (each a lesson) on friendship, family guilt, spirituality, being creative and importantly balance, acceptance and understanding how important each of us is in this world. I actually really liked it but self help books in general are just not my bag so I found it cringe and boring is aspects.Now every time something in life knocks me down, I just say to myself, get in your campervan and drive forwards and don’t look back. Well done Grahame for a thought provoking story that, via its content, is a book that 'keeps on giving'.
