I rated this book 4 stars because it was really good but really short, I mean, I read it all in one day! However, many fans of the series criticized Double Down for having an inconsistent plot, and the advertised movie-making plot not happening until the end. The humor felt a bit more stale here than in Kinney's other releases, and this story suffers a lot from lack of an overarching theme, but it's okay.He and Rowley, while filming it with Susan and Frank's camera, Greg tries to get more worms from the laundry room to get more, but the pig is eating them. At the beginning of the book, protagonist Greg Heffley can be seen talking about how he thinks his life is a reality TV show, and how he thinks Rodrick, Manny, and all the other people in his life are just actors and robots, similar to the plot of The Truman Show.
