The in vitro release study indicated that clindamycin was released slower in samples containing higher keratin. Higher keratin content led to better cellular attachment, proliferation, and spreading. Summarizing, the addition of keratin into the carboxymethyl cellulose improves their properties compared with pure CMC samples.
